It said half of them are still piled up at airports waiting to be delivered back to their owners.
A war of words has erupted between BA and airport operator BAA over who is to blame for the misplaced luggage.
There are all sorts of jokes doing the rounds about baggage handlers at Liverpool Airport now bringing forward their plans for early retirement etc, - this of course would have absolutely nothing to do with the fact that all passengers had to check in all their bags complete with laptops, cameras, mobiles etc...
