And then a few days later - the Boeing has an incident (In the States)

Did anyone see that Jet Blue airliner on the TV which landed with its nose undercarriage stuck 90 degrees off centre? I was amazed and impressed by the skill of that pilot and think he did a fantastic job to bring that jet to a safe halt and without incident. It could have been catastrophic and that nose wheel could so easily have ripped off sending the jet in any direction - he deserves a medal, even attempting a landing like that was extremely brave.

But the moral is - were all boeings grounded - no! So far all Boeing have recommended is that the nose wheel seals are checked/replaced (probrably on the nose wheel steering/self centering mechanism).

Does anyone have any further information on the troubles of Phuket Air?

Don't have CNN :( The only English language news channel I have here is FOX News and I dont need to say how bad that is - however its almost 24 hour coverage of Hurricane Rita currently.
I saw a brief clip of this plane landing amidst sparks-a-plenty and I am sure they said it was a Boeing.

I am not one of those people (spotters) who can glance at an aircraft and tell you what make model and serial number it is. Even after more than 20 years working on aeroplanes _ I can recognise the ones I (used to)work on every day - and the rest I dont even look at.

But whatever plane it was - I still say it was excellent skill (or bloody good luck as he hoped for the best LOL)

Pilot did a great job of holding the nose up for so long. Bet his Christmas bonus will look good.
