Overstay

vlad wrote:Yes you can i paid for a 3 day overstay at Swampy in January this year for 3 days I paid Tbt 1.500 so yes its 500 a day.
So the first day isn't free anymore? I had a two day overstay back in 2004. Payed on my way out at Don meuang. The fine back then was 200 a day , but I was surprised when paying to be told the first day is free. So my two day overstay cost me 200 baht. Cheaper than the then extension price of 500 baht.

The first day is supposed to be free & fine is 500 baht per day.

It is all very well quoting what it is supposed to be, we forget at our peril that any decisions are based on the IO on the day at the moment at the place you turn up at.

I think pointing might be going out of fashion. I've seen some arrests where there are mug shots of the perps on some display specially prepared for the media. The perp doesn't even seem to be there. It's a bit disappointing for those of us who enjoy the finger pointing although the Dutchman here has done enough to compensate.
