Would the heavy rain stop my Honda Electric starter, indicator & gear No lights working?

Help
When I tried to start my Honda Wave parked outside Nonprajack Park after the heavy rain stopped my Honda electric starter, indicator & all lights other than my headlight wouldn't work?
Is that typical or is it coincidence & my battery needs replacing
Any advice would be much appreciated

Have no idea, but will be inexpensive to get fixed at any Honda shop ...

water " can " be a conductor of electricity . more than likely the waterproofing for switches , starters
or ancillary electrical gear is no longer adequate and circuit is temporarily shorting-out . doesn't mean
the battery is bad , especially if it is able to crank the motor and perform it's duties when things are dry.

Yes it's now working just like before
But I think I will get new battery anyway as I'm going back to U.K. for 6 months & don't want my friend having to kick start it every week

A new battery may make no difference.
How old is the current battery?
What is the electrolyte level in the cells?
If the present battery is more than 2+ years old and hasn't been maintained then a new one could be the answer.
If less than that and well maintained then I would be looking for the real cause quite possibly a crack in an electronic module.

No idea age of battery but everything is working fine now
I'm getting a new battery(440 thb fitted) as I don't want my friend having problems starting it every week while I'm in U.K.

Sometime a bit of logic is required. If your battery is covered and dry there should be no problem. Therefore, I, myself would be looking for wires that have been "taped' together or even bare wires. You can buy a new battery, but if you have badly taped wires, what is the point?
The solution, new battery or not, store it in a dry place away from water running on it. It should be as it was before.
