I spotted this on the Thai Airways website, though I'm not entirely sure of the full implications:

http://www.thaiairways.com/en_GB/news/n ... rways.page?
On 10th April 2017, Thai Airways International led by Mrs. Usanee Sangsingkeo – Acting President and Bangkok Airways by Mr. Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth – President signed a code-share Agreement at THAI’s Head Office to strengthen their respective route networks, to facilitate commercial sales, and to improve passenger convenience in flight connections between the two carriers.

The code-share agreement will be on the following routes:

Flights Operated by Bangkok Airways

1. Domestic flights on 10 routes: roundtrip flights on the route Bangkok-Samui, Bangkok-Chiang Mai, Bangkok-Chiang Rai, Bangkok-Phuket, Bangkok-Krabi, Bangkok-Lampang, Bangkok-Sukhothai, Bangkok-Trat, Chiang Mai-Mae Hong Son, and Samui-Phuket.

2. International flights on 4 routes: roundtrip flights on the route Bangkok-Danang (Vietnam), Bangkok-Luang Prabang (Laos), Bangkok-Maldives (Malé), and Bangkok-Siem Reap (Cambodia).

Flights Operated by THAI

Roundtrip international flight on the route Bangkok-Singapore and other future routes are being considered.

For more information, reservations and ticketing, passengers may visit http://www.thaiairways.com or call the THAI Contact Center at Tel. 02-356-1111 or through travel agents across Thailand.

Basically Means you can check you're Baggage right through to you're FINAL Destination in Thailand which is served by either carrier....So Example.....LHR-BKK-Krabi Without Collecting you're bags at BKK Providing the Connecting Flight is on the SAME Day as arrival into BKK......So Once you have checked in at LHR You will NOT See you're Bags Again until you arrive in Krabi,But you will then have to clear Customs at Krabi......

Also means earning and redeeming in each other's FFPs.

Lets hope the baggage allowances that TG provide on their ticketing are also transferred.

Are you sure about this ? In many countries you must go through Immigration and customs at your first point of entry in the country, in this case BKK..
Just asking.
Thanks have anice day.

TG announce on their incoming international flights , certain Thai cities / airports where customs and immigration can be processed if you have internal connections. Krabi , Chiang Mai and Phuket and Samui are the ones I remember , No idea if TG or TS internal flights.

Udon never gets a mention, even if you connect with Thai Smile.

BKK Airways dumped Udon a year ago, so no benefit to me personally.

I would suggest its removing Thai Smile from SE Asian destinations, and a few non profitable routes within Thailand ??

Well, one good thing came out of this post for me... :D :D

The code sharing isn't quite working 100% yet.
I saw on the Thai site that they were advertising a BKK to Da Nang (Vietnam) flight,
However I couldn't get it to make a booking for me so I could discover how much it would cost.
Digging through Google, I discovered that it is actually a Bangkok Airways route that they started in May last year.
Went to the BKK Airways site & discovered I can have Xmas in Da Nang for 6,220 baht a head, return. Extremely convenient times (out 11am, back 3.30pm) as well...

So guess I will not be starting a 'Where to have Christmas lunch in Udon' thread this year... :D

There you go,Bob.......Christmas Dinner in Da Nang......Restaurant Epice....only 700,000 dongs per person ! :-s
Gets a good review on Trip Advisor......nothing like planning well in advance ! :D

“Christmas Day lunch”
Reviewed January 4, 2016 via mobile
Came here for Christmas Day lunch 700000 dong per perspn. Book in advance as it seems to be popular with local and expats
Food and selection was excellent. Had all the traditional Christmas fare - turkey, ham, lamb, stuffing, chestnut. Dessert table was great too - freshly made ice cream, chocolate fountain.

Incidentally, they had a 'Da Nang special" on the Travel Show (Channel 364 Tru) last week and very nice it looked too.

My apologies for going slightly off topic and hope it doesn't cause concern for some members.....

Some nice views of Da Nang, Zid.

I thought codesharing was more a case that both airlines would advertise and fly the same route, and/but that you could find yourself on a plane of either airline when you came to fly. I.e. the one flight would show under two different flight codes, - one for each airline. Thai & Malaysian seem to work like that on the BKK - KUL route.
