Vehicle aircon

Post by BobHelm » August 5, 2018, 7:29 pm

Has anyone any recommendation for a specialist vehicle aircon service & repair - rather than going to one of the main motor dealers in town??

Hi Bob,I have just recently use this guy directly opposite the main gate at wing 23 where the the two planes stand at the lights heading out of town on your left hand side not a lot of signage but I believe is called Hot Air as you are coming up to the lights on your left hand side you will see a small parking lot that is the work area beside his workshop no English so you will need an interpreter, not expensive and Knows what he is doing.

You might find you have a leak some where I have a Toyota pick up had it re-gassed three times by local mechanic the problem was there is a condenser in behind the dash which eventually gives up it cost me 3500 baht to have it replaced about 4 hours work as the whole dash has to come out to replace it, a gas top top is not expensive the place I went to quoted before I gave him the work he was 500 baht cheaper than my mechanic

A Thai acquaintance suggested an alternative shop which happened to be the nearest - so I gave that a try.
His shop is the red star on the attached map.
Some of his equipment looked a bit 'Heath-Robinson' & you certainly need to take a Thai speaker, but he certainly seemed to know what he was doing...
The expansion valve was identified as the source of the issue & replaced.6th. month guarantee.
The valve was 2,600 baht.
I will certainly use again if /when I get the need...

I've had great service from the guy on Pracha Raksa Road, right next door to Miracle Coffee Shop. So it's between the Napalai Hotel and the Ring Road, on the opposite side of the soi from the Napalai.

He's worked on several vehicles for me--sometimes for free. Sells batteries, too. Honest and a fair price.
