Video from Dashcam of a tire flying off a truck on Highway 22
Looked like he was driving a bit to close;
As usual truck did not stop.

Tire Fly's off Truck Udon
Re: Tire Fly's off Truck Udon
Jesus! That was a bullet dodged... just as he was about to UNDERTAKE as well.
Re: Tire Fly's off Truck Udon
When I see a sip-lohr or one pulling a trailer and flying down the fast lane, I don't bother riding his ass or trying to undertake. I just back off, get into the nearside lane and let someone else try their luck at getting past. Life's too short for that nonsense.
But these are the sorts of accident that all the care and caution in the world can't easily avoid. There was a similar video from a few years back when a truck wheel came off, bounced over the central reservation and took out an old biddy on her saleng heading in the opposite direction correctly on the hard shoulder.
Some days you're the bug, other days you're the windshield.

I have seen this happen with recapped tires coming apart and flying all over the road. I try to stay away as much as I can from the 10 wheelers and the double trailer units. You also need to be on the alert for vehicles making an abrupt stop in the high-speed lane in order to make an illegal U-turn right down the road from where the tire came off of this truck.

Buddha was looking out for him that day.
