I am looking to change over the tyres on my Honda City. They still have probably 50% tread, but are the now well out-of-date.
Not a great selection in Ban Dung - basically Maxxis or Otani (a Thai made brand), with the former being a bit more expensive.
I have checked as many reviews as possible for the Otani, including tyre professionals, Amazon, Walmart etc, and have yet to see any worse than 3 stars (from 5), and many in the 4+ star range.
As per the thread title, has anyone used this brand of tyre, and if so, their thoughts would be welcome.
Tyres are THB1600ea fitted and balanced. Model is EK1000.
ps any thoughts also on what to do with 4 perfectly good Michelin 175/65 R15 with about 50% tread?

Look for side wall cracking, a great indication of non wear aging.
The Michelin's on my aging DMax are 10 years old and looking great.

Checked them out, Dero - definite signs of cracking in the rear tyres, not so much in the front pair. Cracking is where the sidewall meets the tread, and within the tread itself.
So in the absence of any further comments, I will head up to the Maxxis store opposite Big C tomorrow to fit 4 new Otani's, and bring the old Michelin's back for further contemplation.

Good call. You look like a low mileage guy so the Otani's will do the trick.
Micro fractures on the sidewalls means it's time to replace tires regardless of age, tread depth or mileage. The shelf-life of tires is included in the the rough guide of 3 to 5 years before replacing them. That's 3 years on high mileage, higher speed use or 5 years for the more sedate driver that considers the ring-road as all a bit F1.
FWIW, most all tires sold in Thailand are made here under license, regardless of the brand and cost.

Thanks kop - I saw your similar comment on an earlier thread.
Best I could get the Maxxis here was 1600 - same as the Otani. And I couldn't be stuffed driving into Udon, and checking out the different tyre shops.
Anyway, now all changed, and didn't feel any different on the drive home.
