Domestic Flights

Post by parrot » August 30, 2021, 1:01 pm

Looks like Air Asia, Lion Air, Vietjet, and Nok Air are gearing up to resume flights to Udon beginning in September. I haven't seen a flight schedule yet.....but will post when it becomes available

So for domestic flights does one still need a negative PCR test?? Considering PCR tests cost you 4 or 5 times what you pay for a domestic flight....Good Luck to the airlines.

You raise an interesting point, villagelife.

Perhaps you could investigate, and get back to us in due course with a definitive answer.

I thought PCR testing was for international flights only. When it all became untenable, that's why all sorts of domestic travel including buses and trains were also suspended.

Do we know where to get the PCR test, and how much they charge?

Clinic in Bangkok offering......

PCR Test with Certificate at 3,500 THB | Rapid Antigen Test at 1,850 THB | Drive-through RT-PCR Test at 3,700 THB | Drive-through Rapid Antigen Test at 2,000 THB

Gives an idea of pricing...I believe BKK hospital in Udon offers PCR testing, not sure of cost though.

I haven't seen/heard anything about vaccinations/testing being required for domestic flying. If anyone has a link for such info, please post it.

A very large majority of the country is still waiting on their first vaccination.

So if I get my last jab ten days before I arrive in Bangkok, I have to wait 5 days until I can fly up to Udon.

Or, I can fly straight away to Sakon Nakhon and Mrs tam come and pick me up at the airport.

I see.

Theres always an option Tammy ... after being safely airlifted out of the very dangerous unstable Kabul being controlled by crazy bearded radicals with silly dresses ....you could always go back to Jockland .... and .. be in a dangerous unstable country currently being ran by crazy bearded radicals with silly dresses.

By the time you are wishing to return to ironing board duties in Thailand im sure there will be a few options to get from Bkk to Udon , i will resume business trips next month after having my second jab you are welcome to jump in with me .. in the back of the pick up obviously...and just hope it doesnt rain.

Back in the real world .. has it been confirmed what tests are needed to fly domestically ???

I have never seen any change to what's below. It's 14days quarantine on arrival still afaik.
"Until further notice, all arrivals who hold Certificates of Entry (COE) issued on or later than May 1, 2021 will be required to undergo quarantine for 14 days regardless of their nationality or vaccination status." - source any Thai Embassy website.

That's right. So I get my last jab 10 days before I arrive, I do 14 days ASQ = 24 days. But Nok reckons the Udon rules only state that those double-jabbed with the Chinese vaccines are good to go in 'more than 14 days'.

All those with a single-jab or double-jab of anything else needs 'more than 4 weeks' to mature. That's 28 days.

Only Sakon Nakhon and Loei have a more realistic idea with 'more than 7 days' for those double-jabbed with anything (except the JJ single pop).

I have no idea where your info is coming from, like I said in my post just before it's 14 days quarantine to get into country, that's it. Where does 28 days and 'maturing jabs'(?) come into it? No need for any jabs if you don't want them. As for domestic Thai travel many traveling freely by road these days, but for domestic flights the rules keep changing and maybe others can help.

My info is coming from the graphic in the Tweet that you posted in this thread on September 2, 2021, 12:47 pm, specifically, "This a list of vaccines required for each domestic route. No mention of PCR tests sorry."

It looks like this.

while the origin tweet is dated 2 September there is no date on the Nok Air Vaccination requirments chart. Also, it is a bit Bangkok Centric since I don't see Bangkok as a destination.... So by this chart if I fly from Udon to Bangkok there's no vacciatnion requirment?
