TRAVEL INSURANCE RECOMMENDATIONS

Post by Mosquito » January 5, 2023, 9:40 am

Planning a Spring Break family vacation, any recommendations on cheap/RELIABLE travel insurance?

Mid March trip to Vietnam (5 days/4 nights), 4 travelers. Minimum coverage desired being 25k USD per person, more it the price is right.....less if the price is pang pang.

Reliability and easy of process should something happen, being the priority.

I took a policy with them on a recent trip - buying was an easy process.

Fortunately I didn't need to use it, so can't comment on ease of claiming.

TY, looked thru both links. Will wait until dates are firm to select which company to use.

All good. Travel agency providing 2M Baht travel/accident insurance, plus 1M Baht Covid coverage (added cost, of course).

15 travelers (bunch of ex-military guys and their families) with both Thai and Viet tour guides, verified (as much as you can when dealing with a Thai company) that the tour guides will be capable of handling any emergencies during the trip.

For General Info.
14 year old daughter and 14 year old niece tagging along.
Require Birth Certificate and / or House Book even for my daughter and niece also required a letter from both parents from the village govt office authorizing her to travel with us. Of course both passport and Thai ID card, also required.
Currently no proof of vaccination required when traveling to Vietnam or advance testing. Travel agency monitoring for any changes, as I indicated concern with China opening up travel with their current waive of Covid cases.

Thailand will probably want proof of vaccination on your return though.

Yup, seen the news last night. Getting everyone a vaccine passport (I already have mine, easy evolution...cost 50 baht).

What pisses me off, wife doesn't understand backup and worst case scenario precautions when traveling. Thinks just having the Thai Health Department Phone App is enough.
For me, Vaccination site certificate of vaccination + Vaccine Passport + Phone App (though can't figure out how to get my info to display and the app is very slow/cumbersome).
