Seems the CnE department along with many other civil service sectors are commenting re more than usual numbers off work with flu .. im guessing these got used to working from home during covid and are swinging the lead in quite a few cases ..nevertheless its being blamed for the slow processing time for shipping containers and the arduous job of fixing tax labels is way slower.

The vibrantly healthy Mrs tam had an unusual bout of fevers, headaches and sore throat since last weekend. She's feeling better today so possibly her first flu joust? Youngest lad was a bit crook as well but apparently he recovered quicker.

Tempting fate i know but DM not had the flu for yonks ..strangely enough last bout was before i got treated for and stopped my rather odd pass time of licking lamp posts and post boxes.

There have been five viral pandemics in the past century, four were due to influenza, and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is due to SARS-CoV-2 infection. During the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a 99% global reduction in the diagnosis of influenza. Also, from 2020, global mortality rates from influenza fell to record levels during the influenza seasons in the southern and northern hemispheres.

There may have been a single strain that did not disappear entirely, but a 99% reduction GLOBALLY leaves only a miniscule 1% being diagnosed. If the global diagnosis of influenza was annually 1%, no one would bother with it anymore.
