Thanks

It is labled Sodium Bicarbonate and is found at the supermarkets. The brand that I last purchased was McGarrett and I think I got it at Big C or Tops.

Perhaps the Dero can give us an update as to his gout medicines.

My understanding is that he has now gone down the Allopurinol route? :D

Suffer from Gout? This works for me.

I have suffered on on and off for many years from gout the best medication I have ever had I have i got here in Thailand.

Pharmacy at Ban Hau market right at the entrance to the Udon Cabana hotel.

Memzotil 20mg yellow tablet to clear the inflamation, also good for other joint pain.

M-Colchicine 0.6 mg to clear the uric acid.

The guy is very good and knows what he is talking about, his wife is also a pharmacist at one of the hospitals.

I have tried many things over the years and nothing works as quick or as good as these two, give them a try you will be surprised.

Well, this works.
Years later, suffering from gout and trying ibufrofen with little relief - I stumbled across this old thread and wow. It works.
Thank you so much.
I went from unable to walk without agony to walking with a soreness in 7 hours and 2 tablets.
Sincere appreciation for your great post.
All these years later and I found your post - thank goodness.
Cheers mate.

I don't suffer from gout itself, but what my doctor call pseudo gout. When it attacks it is almost the same. I can't walk on the foot till it subsides which sometimes can take days. I have tried many things like Apple Cider Vinegar, tablets of all kinds, and even steroid shots.

Someone recommended glucosamine, so I tried it. I take a daily dose with an orange flavored power called Flexsa which I get from the pharmacy in the front of old Tesco. Not cheap - 900+ Baht for a months supply - but thus far since I have been taking it, no attacks. I may be just lucky but, knock wood, I think it is due to the glucosamine.

See where this thread has been reignited!
Yes, I am still taking a daily dose of Allopurinol (200 mg) BUT as I'm still getting the occasional gout attack (3 or 4 months), in my left foot, I have just started taking a daily 1000 mg Glucosamine capsule as a trial (read about it on TV).

AND I'm still using the "Period Pills" when I do get an attack, almost instant pain relief and full use of the foot with gout symptoms gone within 48 hours, maximum. I'm yet to find anything that comes close to this medication for short term relief.

It may not be the same as what you're taking, but a 30 pack of Glucosa 1500 at P&F Pharmacy (bottom floor of Central) is 450 baht (box is marked 900baht). The same is at Forte Pharmacy on the ring road for 300 (but often not in stock).

I get the gout once or twice a year and am a monty for a dose when I am sitting on me fat arse after Christmas watching the Boxing Day test. My doctor gives me indocid, an anti-inflammatory drug. and if I take it as soon as I feel the giddy giddy gout coming on then I am fine. I also find that when I am well hydrated (water) it doesn't matter what I eat or drink - I don't get the gout.

Post by jackson » November 5, 2017, 9:12 am

Has anyone had or know of anyone having a colonoscopy and endoscopy done at the Military hospital here in udon ?
If yes were they satisfied with the procedure and what was the cost. Any reliable feed back will be appreciated. Alternatively other hospitals in Udon ?
Many thanks

My wife had an endoscopy at AEK about 8 years ago so, a while back.

At the time though I was very impressed.

We went to the hospital at about 8AM as she had a stomach complaint. They did various tests before doing the endoscopy and we were home before 1PM.

Total cost, with meds, was about 8000.
