Udon Breast Implant Issue for Fiancée, Doctor needed ASAP

Post by 2000VIPERGTS » February 15, 2011, 9:29 am

Sorry to ask for this ASAP, but I need this information right away. My Fiancee has an issue and need to go to a Doctor as one of of silicone breast implants appears to be leaking. The place that did it 5 years ago is 700+ KM South and I am not in Thailand at the moment to drive her there so heading back to the place of surgery is not a practical option. is there a place in Udon that she can see a Dr. that does these procedures today? She is heading into Udon city today for something and would love to have a doctor be able to check today. Heading to Thailand in 2 weeks again and anyhow thank you folks in advance. Gary

Without some advice coming on a specialist dealing with this in Udon Gary I would tell her to head for AEK.
If there are 'insurance' issues with attending AEK then probably the Military Hospital is the best bet, although that will undoubtedly mean a longer wait to see someone..

Have no personal knowledge on this but have asked a doctor who works at the military hospital. He tells me that AEK do have an implant specialist but it is unlikely for his hospital to be able to deal with anything other than the medical emergency created . He pointed out that there are many specialist clinics in Bangkok, however he is reluctant to give a recommendation .
Ageing is a privilige denied to many .

Thank you very much, this is 100% cash deal, or rather 100% Baht cash deal-lol. I'm a pretty nerdy guy, University of Pennsylvania Alumni and anyhow we need a specialist and not a GP here based on the dialogue I had with her. Since these are silicone, I do not want to fool around. Excuse my interest, but AEK obviously is an acronym that I am not familiar with and would I be correct in presuming they have someone that does implants there? We can shoot down to BKK when I arrive in 2 weeks but at least I could get things rolling now. Many thanks, I feel helpless over here and she is my world Skyping 6+ hours each day everyday together and going to Thailand every month…. Anyhow, I REALLY appreciate the help here Bob and I am a cat rescue guy so love the avatar-I tell my fiancee not to eat my rescue cats-lol.

Thanks Trubrit for reaching out to your doctor friend-I appreciate it! Gary

Gary, I do not have first hand knowledge of a particular doctor in Udon whom your fiancee might see, but I could suggest that you contact the International Customer Services Representative at AEK Udon Hospital. I see on the bottom of their webpage that they do Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. It's worth a phone call. If they don't deal in that then perhaps they could refer you to someone who does. Numbers are at the bottom of the home page.

Thanks my fellow Vet. Semper Squid, X-USN guy  We have to wait until Sunday barring an emergency, but many thanks for the posts here. It is nice to get help when needed-esp. a medical problem and being away just exacerbates the situation on my end. It seems incomprehensible to my fiancée that this is a potentially serious issue, but in Thailand my limited experience dictates everything is "don't worry" Anyhow, case closed until Sunday and TY again! According to the wife, Aek is a descriptive word meaning number one, first, or of high order. It isn't an acronym although I too thought is was until informed otherwise.

I would agree that contacting Aek Udon Hospital would be the most prudent action.

2000V, my advice is to get her to the AEK Udon Emergency room immediately (if she hasn't already been there). They will know what to do, as they do implants there. She will know where AEK Udon is. This could be very serious. There was a case recently where a young girl from England DIED after a "back alley" silicone injection in the US went awry. If nothing else, she (and you) will have peace of mind when they say "no problem" I took my pregnant wife there 3 times on an emergency and each time it was "its normal, no problem". And there was no charge. The fourth time she delivered a beautiful baby girl. This time there was a charge. :D

I see you're a Quaker. My brother also went to Penn, Wharton School. I myself was more fortunate and went to Drexel. :D So I guess that makes us neighbors of sorts.

Good Luck to you and your girl.

She needs to jump on a plane and get down to the surgeon/Hospital that did them...its a short flight she could be there in a couple hours and the cost is immaterial in this situation.
What makes her think one is leaking..?
I would recommend Yanhee in Bangkok.

Thanks my fellow Drexel brother! White Dog Cafe, New Deck, Cavanovs (spelling?), et cetera all good memories and I too am a Wharton guy. I am class of 2003, but went a long time there with a double major, a lot of classes and active in the Alumni community. We agreed to go to AEK this Sunday now as they can only do the regular breast doctor on Sunday from 10-12 but they will need to do some tests I think. I concur with the above observations that this could be serious albeit an ER visit at this time would not yield much except some expedited testing possibly and I think I am more worried that she is. We are not sure there is a leak, but she feels something is wrong (Cliff Notes) and of course this could change and BKK would be an option. Many thanks guys really. I'm a finace guy and own a small tech company where we do data recovery, laptop repair, servers, et cetera so if you need to ask any questions just PM me and for the record I am not soliciting business just offering a hand. Thanks for the posts, in this time it means a lot since this is a sensitive issue and I appreciate the fast help-really.

On a side now, since I am the OP I am 42 years old-am I the youngest guy here? I don't act 42, more like 25 and love it that way-lol. Only 14 days left until my plane leaves the USA and thrilled to go to Thailand again and this is my first time to stay in Udon, we usually stay in BKK but I have traveled to Udon. Gary
