Never had my blood investigated so much, never needed blood. I was surprised even to find out white people could have It

Re: Blood donation
There is a similar condition, called Thalassemia, which is found in the Eastern Mediterranean. Could be that. Or maybe you have some African ancestry a few generations ago. Sickle cell trait could arise via mutation, but would be incredibly unlikely. Or the blood test was unreliable.

Re: Blood donation
Blood tests cost a big chunk of cash. If they have given med meds for it then I guess I've got some issue. The reason I need meds is because there is no blood supply available so my guess is they are trying a different treatment.i would have preferred a simple blood transfusions rather than a heap of dangerous medsrick wrote: ↑February 21, 2023, 6:54 pmThere is a similar condition, called Thalassemia, which is found in the Eastern Mediterranean. Re: Blood donation
I also donated blood to many people in a government hospital. Where the blood donation camp sits, I give blood. I am happy with the blood.
