I used Aek Udon to get 3 crowns fitted & would never go back or recommend them.
In the end the cost was 80,000 baht after numerous xrays & root canal treatment.
They only have 1 so called specialist.
He took out a tooth & after 2 days I went back complaining of the pain.
He laughed when he said OH I can see your jawbone.
He then stitched my gums & charged an extortionate amount for painkillers & antibiotics.
He then said he could put an implant in where he had taken the tooth out.
I refused & told him I would never go back Aek Udon again.
Try the dentist opposite the bus station my son has all his dental work done there with no complaints.

Try the dentist at Wattanna Hospital she is very good. Crowns she does but you will have to check if she does implants.
I can remember a mate getting implants about 10 years ago at a dentist in Udon and they were about 50,000 Baht each.
He spent about 400,000 on implants over a period of 1 year.
I got a crown last year at the dentist across from the cop shop and cost 13,000 Baht.

Yes Malc123 that is why i recommended going there.
There are always lots of Thai people in the waiting area waiting for treatment.
This should be a recommendation in itself.
The original estimate I received from AEK was 30- 40,000 baht which ended up 80,000baht.
This was achieved by telling me needed extra treatment such as xrays root canal treatment a toot extraction etc.
Never use AEK Dentist for dental treatment.

I dunno whether she does implants herself or only does the supra-constuctions (=the crowns that are on top of the implanted bases) but she will make referrals as necessary. The times in which each and every dentist does everything are gone, even in Udon. Specialization and cooperation are the key words.

First, You should visit her and ask for the diagnosis at:
Wattra Dental Clinic
298/11 Saiutid Road
042 343057

Open: Mo-Sat: 09:00 - 19:30
Sun: 09:00 - 17:00

I noticed on the wall in the waiting room that there was a certificate stating that 1 of the dentists had been trained in Implants.
One of the dentists does speak English so I would call in & ask.
They will give you a price for implants before the treatment begins.

My wife has just now corrected me! It was an implant I had at the Dentist accross from the Police Station.
Cost 13,000 Baht 1 year ago. I had a crown done at the same shop 11 years ago and that was 6,000 Baht.
Service was OK but not as good as Wattanna Hospital Dentist.

That would not have been an implant ..Not at that price ,maybe a deep root canal filling..
Do you know what a dental implant is ?

Dental Implant Clinics in Udon

Post by seagulls » November 6, 2015, 2:30 pm

I have had Dental implant surgery and maintainence in Los Angeles and here in Thailand both in Bangkok
and Chiang Mai .Has anyone on this forum had implant surgery here in Udon ? I did an internet search and
there is a Clinic named St Pauls Dental Clinic with an office Close to the Railway station and they also have
a Clinic in Khon Kaen . It would be nice if I could get some positive imput from anyone having received treatment
there or any other implant Clinic in Udon .I have no wish to Fly to Bangkok or Chiang Mai if it could be avoided.

This is exactly what I got at the dentist accross form the Police Station.

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is placed into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental implants may be an option for people who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, an injury, or some other reason.

Rakfun Clinic, Rajpatsadu Rd (near Maya restaurant) tel 042-222935 have done excellent crown and bridgework for my wife and I believe they do implants also. Both lady dentists have DDS, Chintana also has Grad.Dip.in Clin.Sc.(Prosthodontic).
