Insulin purchases in Udon / Thailand

Friend of mine looking at travelling to Thailand / Udon for 6 weeks or so... Insulin Dependant Diabetic

Needs to have a back up for Insulin supplies.

Possible the IDD on here could assist on how he can buy his insulin in Udon etc ( I don't know the brand names as yet )

On prescription only, synthetic Insulin only in Thailand not human.

I have told him to bring a UK script,

Is it only hospital based dispensed, or some larger Pharmacies dispensing once the docs are supplied ?

I buy Mixtard Human for pen at a pharmacy on the rd from centre to Tesco have done for a few years now.

Simple. Explain to the GP in the UK or wherever that an extended holiday requires double or treble prescription and they will gladly dispense it (well mine does). Whilst flying keep one in the hand luggage and the rest in checked baggage. It's a good idea to get a headed letter from your 'quack' stating that you are in possession of insulin needles.
