Local health clinics.

Post by trubrit » April 3, 2018, 7:07 am

Following on about my recent dental experience I have received a few enquiries about the village clinics so I thought a little explanation may be in order .First and foremost they are solely for out patients, they have absolutely no accommodation what so ever . They are located in most of the larger villages, but vary in size and therefore capability, from the smallest with just one nurse in attendance to like the one we have in Nong Wai, with several specialist departments, the largest being the maternity one .Even though ours is quite big we still do not have a resident doctor, just a visiting one .They deal with the day to day health problems experienced any where, from accident injury, babies hot flushes etc etc .Any more serious things are immediately referred to a full hospital, in our case in Non Wau So.They also have a pharmacy and can give and dispense prescriptions . They are for members of the local community who are listed on a house book in the area, for us the yellow book is accepted .They are not a free service but are very cheap being subsidized by Amphur funds.Obviously they can get very busy so if you don't appreciate screaming kids and crying babies it, especially when your feeling under the weather it's best to avoid the day time hours and pop in just before they close at 5pm , it's much quieter
Every village has access to one in there area but you cannot use one outside of it .
In short I wouldn't recommend them if you have serious concerns but they are handy for the little niggles we all get from time to time .Thinking about it I have just made a case for getting the yellow house book haven't I ?
The Nong Wai branch is located alongside the area where the Amphur and police station is on the main road .

Ageing is a privilige denied to many .
