Do not underestimate GOUT

Post by Bandung_Dero » March 5, 2021, 10:02 pm

I'm penning this from my room in ward 5 of Bangkok Hospital Udon, home since Tuesday.
Background:
I have not had a gout attack for about 3 years (regular daily Allperonol 150mg dose). 5 weeks ago I slipped going up on our stair case (polished timber Thai style) my right ankle caught under the stair, I fell forward catching my lower leg on the next stair then my knee on the one after. I was mobile but the overall swelling and pain did not improve much over the next week.
BKK Hospital:
I had a consultation with an orthopaedic specialist, he poked and prodded, xrays and ultrasound. Results, badly chipped knee cap, minor tissue damage from above knee to toe.
Verdict, "Take anti inflametorys, paracetimol and rest, come back in 2 weeks". I was recovering nicely by then and cancelled the appointment.
Deteriation:
I was driving, had good mobility and well on the road to recovery until last Friday with twinges of discomfort in the back of my right ankle (contact point with stair). Saturday painful, Sunday worse and Monday intolerable off to Hospital Tuesday.

Admitted:
The back of my ankle was a mess, black in colour, lumpy with a 8 cm red surround. The lower leg and foot had reswollen.
That's when gout was 1st suggested, the orthopaedic specialist organised consultation with an infection specialist, surgeon and my cardiologist (located there). All decided an operation was required but under general anasetic, not local because of drug conflicts.
They found lumps of calcium like crystals with cysts forming around them going infectious, cleaned out most but left the wounds open for further cleaning, that goes on until next Monday, hopefully discharged.

GOUT effect:
I had a bad gout attack in that area of my ankle about 5 years ago, it healed and forgotten. It wore the full force of the stair fall breaking off the crystals.
My blood tests showed zero uric acid in the system now in fact blood tests including sugar level 112 within specifications.

My conclusion:
Gout can be a sleeping time bomb! AND expensive, 120K as of today.

Take care and best wishes. I started getting gout attacks about two years ago. I would wake up at night with pain in my ankle; furthermore, my big toe would become erect for about ten minutes. I changed my diet, and sometimes go for three months or so without an attack. The last time I had a gout attack was after eating elk.

Gallstones,kidneystones,Gout...Try this herb Chanka Piedra...can be found on Lazada.

Get informed by reading up on this herb, just Google it.No promises but it's worth a try.I myself use it every morning as a pretreatment of my nasty kidneystones.Surgery twice, not cheap..A glass of water with Lemon before ANYTHING else in the morning too..Haven't had a kidneystone "attack"since..maybe ten years..And i'm eating things that i shouldn't,like spinach,broccoli,kale..So try it atleast is my suggestion,it just might help you.

And don't be lazy when it comes to hydrate,PLENTY of water EVERY day.

Have a god day and God bless...//DD:-)
