Dallas Weeks

Post by fdimike » August 1, 2013, 11:10 am

I regret to inform all that long time American resident and good friend Dallas Weeks has passed away. Dallas sufferred a heart attack last night around 12:30AM subsequent to arterial bypass surgery in both his legs. He came out of surgery ok with good blood flow to both legs. Unfortunately, the doctors think a blood clot in his heart caused the heart failure. Dallas was 76 y/o. Funeral service are expected to be held at Wat Po which is located right next to Udon Thani General Hospital. Dallas and his jovial personality will be sorely missed by myself and those who knew him.

I'll provide more exact information regarding funeral services as soon as I get more information from his family.

Aard

I'm not a doctor but when it came to my knee replacement surgery and catarcts surgery I opted for the doctors in BKK. Did it cost more? In short yes. Was it worth the difference in cost? You bet. Catract surgery at Rutnin Eye Hospital and knee replaced at Vejthani Hospital.

The funeral for Dallas will be held tomorrow beginning around noon at Wat Po which is the temple next to the UT general hospital. The local VFW chapter is going to present the family with an American flag as Dallas was a former US Marine who served in Korea. The traditional Thai funeral service will follow.

Dallas was quite a character, with many stories from his world travels, having lived in Mexico for a dozen years before locating in Thailand. I believe his first residence here, for more than a year, was soi 4 Nana Sukumvit, which he said became boring. ;) We paid our respects last night. RIP, Dallas.

Just found this one while I was looking for something else. I THINK this was 4th of July 2 years ago. Dallas on the right, fdimike on the left. Hope you don't mind, Mike!
