RIP Don Spence
RIP Don Spence
Our very close and dear friend, Don Spence has been tragically killed in a motorcycle accident on Saturday night. His injuries were too much and he passed over a few hours later in Nong Khai Hospital.
A Great Mate to a lot of us and he will be sadly missed. A true Aussie Gent and I am proud to have been his friend.
He spent most of his working life offshore as a diver and then in charge of diving and safety.
We went to see him and pay our last respects on Sunday morning, after we received the call from his wife and then met her at the hospital. We then had the difficult and heart wrenching task of contacting his family in Australia and breaking the terrible news.
The pictures are of Don with his little boy, Parker. Justin, Me, Ian and Don. Don and his lovely wife Taan.
So Tragic and so Very Very Sad.
Goodnight Don and God Bless Mate.

RIP Don Spence
Dear Seahawk,
Thanks for putting up this page and for contacting the family.
Because of that I was told via friends on the Monday here in Oz.
Don's loss is a tragedy, he was my most trusted friend for 40 years.
I already miss him more than I have since he moved to Thailand.
He was a like a brother to me.
Don was a wonderful decent and trustworthy man, and loved by many.

I've known Don for over thirty years, and spoke to him recently. A dear friend who will be sadly missed. I always looked forward to his sometimes daily dose of Internet fodder, now no more. RIP mate.

Met him a few times in Greg's bar. He was a very nice guy. RIP.

Don's funeral and will be on Wednesday 6 July. The service will take place at Wat Thoong Sawan Temple, Soi Silapakom, Nong Khai. Following the service there will be a wake organised by Ian Norris at Big Greg's Aussie Bar in Nong Khai.
If you are travelling from Udon Thani, you go on the Nong Khai Road until you arrive at the Golden Dragon Arch in Nong Khai. Turn right at the lights there, then at the second set of traffic lights turn left. The temple is on the right.

Sorry. Ian Morris (not Norris - typo) is organising the wake. The Thais will be supplied with food and drink at the Temple after the service. The farangs will head to Big Greg's Aussie Booze Bar, for food and refreshments.
