Just to let all Little Phil's ( Philip Watson) Friends in Udon know, that he sadly passed away this evening in hospital from lung problems.
He had been in and out of hospital over the last year or so with the problem, but recently it became a lot worse.
As I am sure whoever knew Phil , knew that he was one of the most kindest and generous guys you could ever meet
He would always help people in their hour of need and did a lot for charity here in Thailand.
He will be missed by many. I will post details of the funeral here in Udon once it has been arranged.
R.I.P. Top guy.

Very sorry news to hear about Phil from Kinaree!

I lived there for about 3 years but, Phil had been there a lot longer!

Never heard anybody say anything bad about Phil who was always willing to help those less fortunate than himself!

He was a very sincere guy who had many friends besides me who were always glad to see him!

He will be missed; may he rest in peace!

That is sad news. RIP Phil. :(
First met Phil when we were both staying at AEK apartments many years ago. As a result he was a welcomed guest at my wedding.

Ohhh I am so sad! He was good friend of mine many years.
Lasttime I see him was at the Brickhouse . He had a portable Oxygen Thing with him.
I asked him "Wheres you Honda Jazz?" He said gave it away!
This bloke was so generous. He used to go to places and give treats to Schools for deaf and orphanage.
I just comeback UK and had some Ginger nuts for him..... still in the car!
So sad to hear. My Newcastle friend RIP

At the moment the Embassy has told Paul it will probably be next week when they will release his body for funeral.
I will keep all of you informed as it progresses.

I was wondering about the funeral. Thai Temple, or Christian church.
Glad you are dealing with arrangments. I guess not easy. Thank you

Phil and I became good friends when I had an apartment at Kinaree for a couple of years. I challenge you to find a kinder more generous man than Phil Watson.

When I gave up the apartment and moved back to the USA, Phil took me to the Udon airport. He shed a few tears to see me go, and I did as well. You just don't find many good friends in a lifetime like Phil Watson. There surely is a place above for him.

Was in the mortuary on other business today and was surprised to see his remains are still listed as being in there, apparently he didn't have a legal Thai wife and the delay is caused by contacting the next of kin in the UK .Maybe a heads up for those who have just had the village style wedding .

Update on Phils Funeral

Phil will be cremated on this coming Friday the 29th at 3 pm at the Temple near the Kinnaree.
I do hope you can all make it to say your final good bye to Phil.
The Temple is on the way to the Kinnaree from Soi Jintakarn, basically in sight from the New Siri hotel.
.
Coming from the Police station.. you turn right at the traffic lights towards the Kinnaree or Hotel president. carry on that road until you pass a 5 a side football pitch on the left. Next turning on the left takes you to a small intersection just over a small canal bridge with Siri Hotel on left. Turn left and temple is 50 mts on Left .
RIP Phil.
