Re: Rod Marsh MBE
Just listening to a live interview with Adam Gilchrest. His 1st night in Adelaide with an intake of recruits for Rod's cricket academy. Rod put on a BBQ for them and Adam, trying to impress, tried to go beer for beer with Rod = the night and 1st day of training was a disaster for Adam but an unforgettable lesson in many ways!
Adam went on to become a great wicket keeper and cricketer in his own right.

The Aussies having Rod Marsh was always an unfair advantage. Every time his name got mentioned the poms would remember their first game against him ......... and the hangover that ensued .....RIP to one of the greats
Re: Rod Marsh MBE
Watched him play. Rest in peace to a great cricketer, mentor and larrikan, you will be missed. He is up there with all the greats and not so greats meeting him at the gates, Rod wont pay of course the entrance fee.

Re: Rod Marsh MBE
Many of the days I spent at the 'G' as a kid and teenager in the 70s and 80s featured Rodney Marsh. He could play. Could bat. Clean and quick with the gloves. And as far as cricket goes he seemed like the type of bloke you'd want to be around. Talking ---- in the cordon with Marsh, Chappell, Chappell, Walters and Mallet would have been a good day out, even when Lillee and Thompson made it scary. I was there the day the T Chappell bowled the underarm and can remember Rodney's reaction. He knew the spirit of the game. RIP to a great man. From and great time.

I played cricket for a decade and a half from u/10s up to seniors as a wicket keeper. Marsh was alway someone to watch and try and emulate.
