"Less Talked about" Apparently you didnt follow the NHL in the 70 and 80s 50 plus goal scoreer in his Rookie YEar plus more. But that is OK here are some tapes to have a look

I meant in relation to the likes of Gretzky and Lemieux.
If you asked non hockey fans if they had heard of either Gretzky or Bossy, more would say the great one rather than Bossy.
Coz you got me worried I actually used you mate Mr G and asked the names of famous hockey players, and Mike Bossy comes in 15th place ........ still plenty good enough to be called "A Great"

I must admit that during 70/80s I didnt follow NHL too closely as I was too occupied travelling the length & breadth of Britain to obscure rinks in Irvine/Fife/Bournemouth/Bristol/Altringham/Streatham/Whitley Bay/Deeside/Ayr/Glasgie/Murrayfield/Cardiff/Medway/Southampton and Blackpool to name a few

There is no doubt that Bossy was a great player. His protector, Clarke Gillies, died fairly recently too. Gillies was arguably the toughest player in the NHL at that time. I saw Gillies play with the Regina Pats in 1972 against the Swift Current Broncos. The Pats won, 9-7.

However, the toughest player I ever saw play was Gordie Howe when he was with the Detroit Red Wings.

By the way the Pats were named after Princess Patricia.
You only pass through this life once, you don't come back for an encore.
