Rup Pid Chorb (รับผิดชอบ)

Post by parrot » October 2, 2016, 11:22 am

I've long been a fan of Andrew Biggs who seems to have a deeper understanding of Thai culture than most old timers here. Understanding Thai culture doesn't necessarily mean you agree with it or accept it as a preferred way of doing things. But understanding thai culture goes a long way toward making life here more acceptable........despite the sometimes tremendous gap between ways of thinking (120v vs. 220v). ... onsibility

I've known mid-level Thai bureaucrats, cops and soldiers who did the mandatory retirement at 60... For some, separation from the gravy train of various alternative streams of income meant a penurious pension and a dramatic scaling back of their lifestyle.
