Thai Veterans Day

Post by parrot » February 3, 2020, 4:36 pm

Feb 3 of each year is Thai Veterans Day. The military holds a ceremony on that day on the base next to the Military Hospital. Representatives from veterans groups around the province, including American veterans attend the ceremony to pay tribute to those who served. There's a traditional 21 gun salute, taps, and wreaths placed at the statue of Prince Prajak.
There are always a few Thai veterans who can speak English and seem to enjoy yakking about old times. Today's ceremony was attended by probably 200 or so veterans.

The facebook page below has photos from a Veterans Day ceremony from 2018. Slightly different ceremony today, but the photos haven't been posted yet.
