Stan maybe a tex mex night here would be a good idea. But I have to tell you they are a lot of work and they are expensive. It would be one thing for a few friends and another for the entire forum, we have a Mexican Resturant they are much better equipped for something like that then I am, I do not want to be viewed as competetion to them. My things are much different then what they do. Thiers is a buinesss that is Unique to the area and I think they derserve the communities support.

What I do is strictly for fun, what they do is a real business day in and day out, so if we are going to have a Tex Mex night maybe it would be a good idea to have it there.

:) We really enjoyed our family trip to the Taco place and wasn't thinking of a competition thing.Nor a forum meeting thing, just some people that really enjoy TexMex versus non spicey food and a little social homestyle potluck style get together :)

avocados here what a surprise

I just had 30kg of avocados delivered by bus from Petchabun. There are two varieties. Can someone please identify them by name and share your experience with them (I will be using them to make guacamole)?

I am pretty sure that the one on the left is a Haas, but not sure of the one on the right. Peterson maybe?

PS...not sure about reviving a 2006 thread when there was an avocado thread already on the front page. ;)

Skywalker...The one on the left is surely a Haas and the one on the right is probably a Petersen..The way to tell if it is a Petersen is the skin around the seed...If there are two layers of skin, it is a Petersen..Don't know why they have two layers, but they do..
