Read the thread fully, or at least let others make their own mind up.

totally agree, looks like you are out voted izzix.

but, i am interested, why are you so against it?

there is no advertising, and if stickman really is giving bad info to profit himself, then surely we should all know.

am i wrong?

Competition is great. I enjoy the site.

Whilst I found the site to be rather boring and a very pale imitation of Stickman, I found his audacity in getting it mentioned by Stick on his column very amusing.

I like Stickman

Post by kafkaesque » November 1, 2006, 9:25 am

I like Stickman. Lately I have been reading his column every Sunday
night (USA Time). I felt gyped when he didn't publish last weekend.

I learn a lot about Thai culture from his site. He explained the why and how much of Sin Sod. The readers submissions are great. I sent
"Why I never married a Thai" to my ex. She said "do you think we are the Blondes of Asia" HAHAH. Some of the Casanundras writings
give very good insights into Thai culture and history.

I have never been to Pattaya and I basically only walked down Soi Cowboy and into Nana Plaza. I think if Stick recommends a bar someone might walk in and have a beer. But I think there is plenty of competition in Pattaya. If someone doesn't like a place they will just go next door.

Can someone tell me why I love Thailand?

I read one of Galt's pages, and just wonder about his morbid fascination with Stick.

The page I read seems to paint Stick as the devil incarnate (which he may or may not be - I don't have an opinion on that), but offers very little by way of substantiation for some pretty outrageous allegations.

On first reading I suspect this guy may be trading on Stick's name. Be interesting to see what follows.

like the concept, like the competition, but except when initially researching thailand after my first visit, stickman doesn't have much to offer anyone who is not interested in the bar scene. letter from readers, seems to be more of bunch of people comparing notes, conquest, if you want to call paying a purple for anything you want a conquest of thai nightlife. half the ones i've read are people's imaginations, or repetitive dribble.

but congrats to him for making a living off of it. good warnings for the first timers, if heeded. just bit boring for me. only go there now if someone points out something of interest. if interested in bar scene or teaching, informative w/links for more teaching sites, but that's about it.

if galt wants to write a night scene blog then thats up to him but there is alot of stickman bashing to boost his readership.
stick has a massive global readership so maybe he is envious of stickman and cant write an original blog like mangosauce etc.
so he keeps on feeding of stickman like a leech and using his name instead of developing his own persona.

i reckon galt has a chip on his shoulder about stickman ,he must be a failure in life and cant stand his success so he keeps on bashing away at stickman.
maybe he lives in a wheelchair and cant get out much !

Dr. Stick and Mr. Galt?

I think this is rather comical. Wouldnดt be surprised if this was Stickmans alter ego, his best friend or even himself. Certainly improves the raitings. At least here Stickman has the opportunity to respond to some of Mrs. Sticks bull ----. And at the same time can blame it on this mystery man, Mr. Galt.

 I have some reservations about building an audience on the back of anothers efforts!
But,I have to admit that I enjoyed reading Mr. Galt!
I used to be an avid reader of stickman, especially in the earlier days.I think it was an excellent site for newbies to read although I tend to agree that lately,Stick has gotten a little big headed about his expertise.
It is a commercial site and It seems he panders to a wide and varied audience, sort of like a politician that starts out with high principles, then succumbs to the sense of power and his monetary future.
That doesn't make Stick bad or even not right on most things!I guess Mr.Galt will keep us up to date on Stick's mistakes. Now ,who will we get to straighten out Mr. Galts mistakes?Nobody,I hope :!: And I hope Stick doesn't get into a slanging match with Galt.
I think Mr. Galt would have shown a lot more integrety if his site had not been established using Stickman banner, colors and name to draw.Of course it would not have gotten the many readers initially or ever.

maybe its run by somebody stick upset in the past trying to get even.
i cant think of any paralell where somebody has gone to the trouble to start a website devoted to bashing some other guy . It all costs money so he gets no return on his money .what a futile waste of time ?

very few could claim a comparable success.
