What is this? It seems like an odd cultural activity, but I guess that I am out-of-touch

555+ Yes, the so-called dancing seemed to mostly consist of not-very-good somersaults and crawling on one's hands and knees. I had never seen this before, and wondered if it was a new craze at dances.

I was particularly captured by the moment towards the end when the young lass in the red T-shirt retrieved a falsie (titty pad) lost by the acrobatic girl in yellow shorts. The latter then unashamedly slipped it back into her top, to restore the lost glory of her left breast. :D

My wife's comment - "too much drinking".

looks like late evening.. No doubt this Temple Fair started about 10AM in the morning and these two have been drinking steadily (or unsteadily) all day long...

Soon they will be with child, and the father running off without paying.

Youngsters having fun. Hopefully no drugs involved and only a bit too much booze.

A fringe meeting of the TGSA ...... Thai Glue Sniffing Association perhaps ... standard village Morlam with a twist .

Not a new craze (maybe one from the West) ... according to a Thai mate who is in the know there is a rapidly growing trend with young teenage Thais to sniff glue , it is cheap , more so not illegal to carry and doesnt show up on the police pee testing method.

A New Craze ?!? just a normal morlem night out

Post by wallabyjack » April 27, 2014, 11:55 am

Being a regular attendee at these well patronized events the video appeared quite normal to me
Surprised the katoy who does the piggy dance didn't appear on the video
Im sure after a few bottles blend 285 most would end up the same way, maybe a few other substances consumed
But this dance trend is gaining popularity and is seen at many of these great night outs

Glue sniffing is probably more dangerous than drugs. It fxxks the brain. I hope these kids were just youngsters having fun with a bit of booze. We were young and many of us silly once. Good observation Jack. I missed that. 555. I'm having a bit of Sunday evening booze myself right now but I don't have the energy to hang out with these girls.

I had forgotten about the glue sniffers. It was very popular in the late sixties, in particular, with 14-17 year old girls. One of them was still sniffing at 23. Fat Pat was her nickname.

These days it is Indians (natives) and Eskimo kids who sniff glue and gasoline in Canada.

According to reliable sources in the Sukhothai and Phitsanuloke areas, there is an epidemic of yaa ba and meth use among high school and university kids, and anything else that keeps them awake to study and be active on the dance floor. The Thai programme 'Hormones' brought this home to many parents, both wealthy and poor, by showing what their kids were up to.

It looks like the rumours of a drug epidemic in the Sukhothai/Phitsanuloke area might have some truth to them:-
