Make-up tips needed ;)
Hi guys,
Long time lurker, first time poster.
My KISS cover band performing an outdoor show at my beer-garden's grand opening party in a little more than a week. The guys in the band arrived drunk off their asses yesterday and are currently getting better acquainted with some of our staff.
The guys brought all guitars, and even the light-up bass drum (I have now flown an entire Peter Criss Alive II Tour drum set almost half around the world - with the help of 8 different people. On their next trip my 84 year old mother and 86 year old father will start bringing pieces of my KISS pinball machine.) They spent THB 20K on bribes because some a-hole wouldn't let them trough customs with the smoke grenades and rockets for the Ace Frehley guitar. (All packed, labeled and registered according to EU regs.) Due to the overweight charges for the costumes and armor they literary came here with only the shirts on their backs. They brought extra sequin patches for the Paul Stanley boots, and even a spare bag of silver colored feathers should the coat for the finale need some urgent touching up.
But they didn't bring the f-ing MAKE UP!
I'm kind of new to Udon and have spent 90% of my time here working to get the place ready for next week. I have already postponed the opening once and that was embarrassing enough.
Today me and the guys have looked EVERYWHERE for clown make-up - white and black especially. For the green and blue we can use matte ladies' eye shadow. We even printed a picture of Gene Simmons out to show everyone we saw selling any kind of beauty products. And i mean everyone! From the nice and expensive smelling girls in Robinson's to the old lady in Bo Bay market with a single table of nail-polish and a dog more dead than alive under it. (One bottle for 19 baht and 3 for 49)
When writing this my face is painted with normal white house acrylic paint. I applied it with an artist's brush. It looked ok when still wet, but now as it dries it starts to crack up. It itches like hell, but it stings the eyes less than i thought it would.
I really would appreciate if someone would help me find a place to get some clown make-up. I would hate to have to fly to BKK just to find some.
Thanks,
Jon
FYI: A shop girl in Boots told me when I showed her the Gene Simmons picture that she has a brother working in Bangkok: "He ladyboy, same same you." Good to know.

You can also check with the local ladies theater club. I believe their headquartes are just down the street from your beer garden. Have you got a date yet for the grand opening?

well Matey I dont even know if there is a Chinatown in Udon, I was referring to BKK, but there should be a little Chinatown somewhere in Udon, as those fella's get the face paint on for Chinese New Year festivals and things..ask a tutt tutt driver, or the chinese at the gold shops..

Don't worry about Chinatown, just ask a ladyboy. They probably know about these things. Some members here will be able to ask their ladyboy "friends". I don't think maaka is one of these members.

May be able to make to make it yourself. Big C & Tesco, Tops, Villa carry corn starch. Food coloring is available, but may require some looking around for colors needed.

More important is where and when is the show ?

Good Lord Buddha maaka, I don't live anywhere near Paritai Drive. If I lived there I could afford 3 or 4 mia nois and have enough money to keep all those women including the Mrs. happy. My life is much simpler and more of a struggle that that. I don't even have enough money for a ladyboy "friend" who can help the poster here. Your handbag can stand easy.
