The bigotry and innuendo in this thread is getting worse. Maybe you would like to show us a photo of your perfect body --- then again you had better not!!!

This guy has done nothing to lead me to believe he has committed ANY untoward (physical) act against man, woman or child in Ban Dung. I would be very interested to hear from ANYONE who has proof otherwise.

As for not grassing on him. WE have had enough of that bullshlt around here when it comes to immigration issues.

do you know in the slightest what it's like to be attacked by a pediophile ? yes I do , at ain't good believe me. not just the physical black eye, split lip, that you recover from. so jack , shut up until you can say you know anything about it, you know what helped me, therapy, getting to know there was no way a 6 year old can protect himself against a grown man, and yes living with the fact all your life. I don't hide the fact of it, if I did then the **** had one , he terrorized a child, but he did not destroy my life. there's some psychology for you
.
sorry chaps but I personally fell very strongly about this subject, please forgive the language but my blood pressure just hit the roof

You seem to have coped with it rather well, outwardly anyway. I simply can't image, especially at such a young age.

As best that you have coped and dealt with, sadly, it inescapable. Surely everyday, you have reminders all around you. Stories and new blips such as this, far too many. Movies, talk shows, would be constant reminders. If it bleeds it lead, and sex sells, so Entertainment TV and News will never let you not be exposed to a reminder ...... every F'g day.

I know someone of similar circumstances, a victim, and she told me she has to live 'in a cave', to avoid the constant, daily reminders. She avoids all TV and news, lives in the county-side, a very simple life, and has managed well, or as best she can to avoid exposure, and reliving it daily.

Unless you know a victim personally, people haven't a clue how much of a 'mind F' it is.

Warming up to be a right old Stough over a ROCK SPIDER, his climax will come when he is greeted by inmates of the Prison he will be allotted to. One size fits all? if you get my drift. My Halo is so comfortable now, having rid myself of unnecessary know it all pests. Jack, is it safe to come to Ban Dung, without starting a rumor of me having lustful intent for the young Thai Ladies???????????

Despite it being the rainy season, I have no mud to sling and certainly do not wish to make any comment on this 'case'. The only information that I have is from this very thread, and this information is so contradictory and confusing that any judge would rule that there is no 'case' to be heard.

I would like to comment on the fact that the person arrested is said to have been convicted of having had sex with someone "below the age of consent". According to Australian Federal law the age of consent is set at 18. Each state also has its own legislation and the age of consent can be 16, 17 or 18 according to the state. State law also has an exception whereby a person having sex with his or her own husband or wife cannot be charged.

Having sex with a person under the age of consent should never be confused with paedophilia, which refers to sexual interest in a child below the age of puberty.

Just thought I'd make that clear so that nobody accuses either Romeo or Juliet of being paedophiles.

Well, well. I think more than a few farang in Thailand, including some Udon residents, will have had sex with someone under the Thai age of consent. According to Stickman, Bangkok bars periodically get caught out with youngsters.

Most of these guys won't be rock spiders and wouldn't even consider themselves criminals. They probably didn't even know the age of consent in Thailand. I would guess we would have differing views on the level of disgust warranted at this conduct.

Just to keep the record straight, Mr. Yardley was arrested for violating immigration laws in Thailand.

According to a variety of press reports (English and Thai), he had been found guilty of sexually abusing two children in Australia.

Yes, I wasn't suggesting Mr. Yardley had been with underage bar-girls in Bangkok but that more than a few farang who visit the bars may well have.

I read the Australian police noticed he was transferring money from Australia to Thailand and passed that on to the Thai police who then found him in peaceful Ban Dung. I wonder if he had tried to legitimately enter Thailand, whether he would have been successful.

I read last week at the border post, Mukdahan that an overstay of 90 days or more, is an automatic 1 year exemption for re- entry and the time increased according to the months , years after that.

Reading this thread it seems that any expat , that has left a previous country with outstanding matters, even outstanding child care payments , should be dobbed in to the relevant Embassy / Consulate.

well let's go back to the start "The arrest came after Australian and Bangkok police requested assistance in locating the man who is accused of a child pornography case in Australia" so he was a wanted man that had previous conviction for abusing children, the aussi authorities were looking for him over a child porn accusation. an accusation from the aussi government itself . shows even after years in prison he still could not help himself. in the uk a sexual photo of a child gets you on the sex offenders list , for life. if I took and sent a picture of my bits and sent it to a 30 year old woman, i'm a sex offender, if I sent it to a child i'm a ***. hey is a guy that rapes not a rapist because he has not done it lately ? his outstanding matter in OZ was he was a wanted man for a very nasty crime, as for what he got up to here I will leave that to inspector clouseau and the keystone cops. apparently what ever he did was bad enough for an international arrest warrant.

good news is he will be back in OZ where aussie's will have to deal with a child predator in their community, hopefully he will be punished and then tagged for the rest of his sorry life, happily he's no longer a part of our community.

He would have got a passport because the "Snivelling libertarians" would have said he served his time it is his humanitarian right to.

Im presuming he might have been in the Watch List after his release.

Perhaps the illegal ?? Entry from Lao was to bypass the Thai Immigration from having flagged him at the border.

Australia informs the Philipines when know persons fly there. Sadly the Filipinos dont have an intergrated system that allows their immigration entry to be vetted. Its been a bone of contention with the AFP for years. Cant be that hard to send a confidential email to a dedicated 24/7 server that is monitored. Giving them 7 odd hours to red flag it on their system.

Correct, almost. (the report, not the translation)

He served 3 years of a 7 year sentence in Oz for what was previously known there as "unlawful carnal knowledge" ie s-ex with someone under the legal age of consent.

He is being deported for illegally entering Thailand.

Perhaps you could inform us where you "heard" your information, coxo. And even more so, why you didn't pass it on the the local authorities. :-k

That is quite an accusation Mr Pratt, the topic of this **** came up Sunday afternoon after his arrest, I can assure you Mr Pratt had I know about this low life scum I would have reported him without any hesitation at all, I would also have liked to cut his gonads off along the way, I do not have any compassion for adults that mess with children. It seems he was common knowledge in Ban Dung, did you know about his exploits Mr Pratt? At a guess I would say you new, did you do any thing about him?

Hmmm, good point.

If you bothered to read the articles and posts you would know he entered Thailand without a passport, he crossed the river from Lao in a longtail boat.
