Ahhh the old Penlight, what a boon for the medical fraternity, with the latest in LED technology a much clearer view can be had and keep bluey to a short time, if you want that is. :-"

I have said it before but I will say it again, following a blip in my PEA test, it was decided by the doc that I should undergo a colonscopy, well after I talked to my medical family and had a second test at another hospital in Udon where the result was lower, the following information I gleaned from my family.
1 Todays tests are so good that even the slightest blip in your system would show up, however the colonscopy will probably NOT find anything as the blip is so small.
2 We are all capable of checking our own stools and if their is significant dis-colouration or which could highlight a problem then all is ok.
3 know your body if unusual events not due to diet or drink occur then monitor it . Your digestive system is very good at letting you know if there is anything wrong. Listen to it.

That was some 8 years ago and since then i have been following that advice needless to say i am still as healthy as I was then. All tests are in the norm range , so beware Doctors here saying you need tests and always always get a second test done not at AEK or BKK hospitals they are cash Cows, they view people as a way to enhance their coffers, bugger all to do with your health.

Well it seems the new P.M. agrees with you as I do. There is a private lab in town very inexpensive, some tests need to be sent to Bangkok. But, for the most part they are done locally. Then you can take them to a local G.P. an he can tell what the results are and if they indicate problems. Our GP I believe is 300 baht a visit. You have all the information so easy to get a second opinion.

Bangkok Hospital Udon is having a promotion through June 30th, 2016 Endoscopy for 13,000 Bt. Colonoscopy for 18,000 Bt. and a combination of both for 29,000 Bt. You must first make an appointment with a GI Specialist for a consult, and that is about 600 Bt.

Yes, look for promotions. Had one at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital in 2012. Promotion price was 12,000 (1/2 of full price) including the day-before consultation with my doctor. The hospital handled the dialogue with my my insurance company (no outpatient coverage) but they paid in full because I was technically admitted to hospital but not overnight. Will be getting another scope next year.

Please read my previous post may 2015, constant views up your anal passage can lead to further complications and as stated before although the tests MAY show an abnormality that no-way means you have a problem . And here unfortunately cash rules patients health is the scare factor they use to ensure you cough up the readies .
last year I visited the UK, and underwent a further test just to make sure and it was normal, but the warning was , aka my brother stay aware of what you eat, your stools and the state of them, things can change depending on what you eat and how much you drink ( alcohol wise ) but generally if the norm is POK so are you. Something else my optician ( English ) said to me was that a Good Optician ( ophthalmic specialist ) and a good chiropodist ) will know if you are healthy as the eyes and surprisingly the feet are a damn good indication of your health before any other symptoms surface.

Bumrungrad's colonoscopy/endoscopy clinic is a factory with large numbers of folks cycled through on a daily basis. That said, it is professional and quick. Bangkok Nursing Home (BNH) is also quite good with a far smaller clientele and much more personalized treatment. https://www.bnhhospital.com/ Both also accept a variety of foreign insurance plans.
