Actual rainfall for Udon

It rained very hard at kilo 18.......well over an hour and 1.5". Some wind before the storm, but then none with the rain.
Seems to be an unusually hard rain for this time of the year........+ last week's, ++ the good rain the week before last!

1.8 inches (45.7mm) so far in Ban Jan today. Suspect we may get some more overnight.

1.1 inches (28mm) of overnight rain in Ban Jan. I think other areas may have got quite a bit more. Lots of thunder and lightening around us when we weren't getting any rain.

Yuk. What an awful morning, even reminiscent of the UK. Is it my imagination from years here, but this year seems particularly heavy and drawn out? I was contributing to the painting of a large surrounding wall for a relative's house, but when is it ever to be dry enough to continue?

That has been my thought as well Brian.
Rather than the half hour heavy storms of most years, it seems persistent this year.
Nong Sim already has more water in it than it has had even at the end of the wet season for the last few years.
Mind you, it needed it & there is still plenty of room for another meter or so..

Usually I have the boys in the car and in their respective schools by 7:20 AM and I am home well before 8 AM but 'somebody' forgot to their homework didn't they!?
