Pita bread

Post by vincemunday » August 3, 2017, 2:18 pm

Hi, I've looked in Big C, Tesco and Makro without joy, anyone know where to buy Pitta bread in Udon?

The forest was shrinking daily but the trees kept voting for the axe as its handle was made of wood and they thought it was one of them.

No Gary, you're the second to suggest that actually but I've sourced a recipe from a Greek cooking site and I'm going to give it a try, thanks though.

Yeah okay I'll put up a pic, my souvlaki, hummus and tzaziki turned out great so I'm hopeful, I was just missing the pita (I've seen it spelt both ways) and used the wraps from Makro which were fine but not as nice as the real bread.

Prime Foods in Pattaya has them. They send them up by bus. They also sell Donar Kababs. Obviously they have other stuff.

Jimmy,

I'm really grateful for the excellent heads up, prime foods have just about everything I've been looking for since I've been here, curry pastes the lot!

Thank you!

I looked at that too but I think the sachets will be better for me.

Thank you PapaZ but I've bought all the ingredients and I'm going to try to make them myself, fingers crossed.

If anyone else was looking for Pita bread, it's now available in Big C down the farang aisle.

I haven't tried to make it yet but I'll get there, I have all the ingredients but I'm after some aubergines for moussaka and I'm going to do a full Greek meal, it turns out my Thai family are very keen on Greek food after my mum in law ate at Tom & Jees and I made things worse when I made the souvlaki as that converted the rest. Why do we do these things?

I've had Pitta Bread served up with curries in good Everything Restaurant and in the T-Bar, but off the shelf I fear not.
