Early reports speak of a shooting in Makro by a soldier of his pregnant wife/girlfriend - Was still alive up until the point of ambulance departure.

With NO criticism in any form, I hope she makes it.. as the CPU being applied was totally off kilter. As a "paramedic" straddled the victim on her dolly from the meat sales area through Makro and beyond for at least 30 metres to a parked ambulance. Approx 1.5 mins.. with NO breaks.

Uncomfirmed reports of other bystanders injured. The shooting occurred after an argument between a couple. Information of the unborn baby not accurately known.

Shooter APPEARS to have turned the weapon on himself and is reported to be dead at the scene. Makro security do not carry firearms.

This from the Chang Rai times in English about yesterdays shooting in Makro......

UDON THANI – Police in Udon Thani have reported that a Thai soldier has shot and killed his wife in a packed department store after they argued about his alleged adultery, police said on Friday.
When police arrived at the the scene they found 41- year-old Sgt-Major 1st class Pichet Chumboonchoo, lying dead on the floor of Makro supermarket with chest wounds, five meters from his wife, 40-year-old Sirinporn Chumboonchoo, who had been shot three times in the back.
A 9mm automatic pistol and some bullets were also found at the scene.
Security guards at the scene attempted CPR on Ms.Sirinporn however it was in vein as she was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.
Her seven-year-old niece and a 32-year-old store clerk also required treatment for injuries, as both were shot in the ankle.
The shooting sparked chaotic scenes in the store as staff pushed trolleys to help take the injured to ambulances.
Pol Col Poomiwit Wetchkama said on Friday they had interviewed Sirinporn’s relatives, who believed the Kanchanaburi-based soldier had got into an argument with his wife after she accused him of committing adultery with another woman.
Ms. Sirinporn had then left him to live with her relatives in Udon Thani. Pichet followed her to ask for a reconciliation but she turned him down and had recently told her husband she wanted a divorce.
Witnesses said that Pichet had shot himself in the chest accidentally after he encountered some problems with his gun.
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

So he was trying to clear or unjam his pistol with the barrel pointed towards himself?

According to the latest report in Thairath (as I read it), the woman's husband was resuscitated and is in ICU at Bangkok Hospital under guard.

Law enforcement sources have informed me that the couple was residing in Kanchanaburi and that the wife is from Udon. She was here visiting family and to get away from the husband after she discovered a mia noi and was seeking a divorce. Apparently, the husband didn't want her to divorce him, which doesn't explain this any better AT ALL. Senseless.

https://www.liveleak.com/view?i=7a3_1507994989 I've noticed that when the ems get to most accidents the first thing they do is cpr.this woman was alive when she was trolled into the ambulance but receiving cpr when she probably had a heart beat.having three bullet holes in you and then getting cpr probably does more damage than help.they seem to think giving cpr keeps you alive.i reckon they have forgot the sequence of checking the vital signs for breathing or pulse or more than likely never been taught it.

And that's how it will be Macca the Thai news likes to keep these incidents under wraps till it dies down. There more interested what an old falang does to a Thai National.

Not true. Unless it's a high profile case (movie star, hi-so, etc) or an especially horrible crime, you're likely to read (in Thai news) the initial report, maybe one followup, and then that's the end. It's not that the cases get swept under the rug, it's that the press doesn't follow it after the first few days. Really not much different in the US.
