It wasn't only me having problems. I know of three other people who were driving around unable to locate the Wat. Simply taking the time to write the Wats name would have helped.

The Wat name is only given in Thai- I provided a photograph of that.
I then took the trouble to open up Google Maps, search for Wat's in the general area & then manually highlight the Wat on the map & post a copy. The name there is in English.

I will not bother again, next time I will leave it to you Galee..

Just got back from a week down south with no internet access, and can only say I'm in shock after reading this news.

3 of us turned up 30mins late due to this ...... I also know for 3+ people who also gave up and went home!

The only thing that got us there (late) was the photo of the Wat's name in Thai. We asked a private International Thai school to translate it for us in the city and they then gave us directions!

Normally, upon the death of an ex-pat, the family, or somebody with their consent, provides full details of the date, venue and time of the Ceremony. In the absence of that happening, Bob kindly made some enquiries and, IN GOOD FAITH, posted such meagre information as he was able to obtain. I was also able to add what I hoped was some helpful supplemental information, provided IN GOOD FAITH, by Bobbie, and which he had obtained by further researching Bob Helm's information on Facebook.
The fact is, by using the information provided by Bob Helm, and using some personal initiative and effort, 16 members were successful in finding the Wat and attending the Ceremony. It seems highly likely that, without Bob Helm's contribution, there would have been virtually no ex-pats at the Ceremony; including panick and friends, had they not had the 'photo provided by Bob!
As the ONLY person who made any attempt on behalf of the members to obtain and publicize here the details of the Ceremony, ( certainly there is no evidence to suggest his critics made any such attempt ), Bob Helm is entitled to the gratitude of members; certainly he is not deserving of the unpleasant ill considered vilification he has received.

ON TOPIC and on a happier note, the majority of the ex-pats attending, adjourned to The Kinnaree for a couple of hours, to enjoy lunch and swap stories of their experiences with Ron. An event which Ron would have enjoyed, and of which he would have approved.
Perhaps in respectful memory of Ron, this thread could now be closed, whilst it is on topic.

Thank you very much ....with this pics everybody can see how simply nice man was Ron...i will never forget all the wonderful memories spend together in Panarin ..i really feel sorry to not be there for say hallo the last time....R.I.P Dear Ron...for me like a second father....
