Trust only those who have won multiple Pulitzer, Edward R. Murrow, or similar awards within the past 10 years (includes staff in the count).

Fox and every other Murdoch property have been Pravda 2.0 since the 90's. Anyone who has relied on Murdoch is brainwashed and propagandized; but of course they think they aren't. That is how the process works, though...duh. The undereducated love Murdoch properties, and Murdoch built his media empire by manipulating the undereducated.

Independent news is trustworthy if the journalists are esteemed and reputable. The Daily Beast, The Hill, The Intercept, Democracynow, Bloomberg, etc. Your not going to find many right-leaning sources in this camp because most have sold their souls since the W Bush, or even Gingrich years.

If one cannot be bothered with actual due diligence, then tempering consumption with multiple reputable foreign media sources (non-Murdoch) also works. Al Jazeera, BBC, FT, The Guardian, etc.

I lived in a house trailer for a number of years because at that time, it was all I could afford. My house trailer was paid for by ME. I never lived off welfare. There was a time when people were ashamed to be on welfare. Democrats have changed that from shame to a right.

We all know Obama care was Obama's flagship achievement, that ironically, caused Hillary to lose the election, and is often the top reason given for expatriation. A tougher question that is a good one to ask any Leftie, is what did Barry Soetoro do to win a Nobel Prize? It might even make them sweat.

The Guardian football results are never wrong and I tend to agree with some of their opinion pieces. 'Jonathan Pie' is always on the ball... and if Private Eye was full of lies it would not have been taken to court so many times.

I don't trust the weather and the weather channel is owned by CIA. They create the weather and if there is no weather in store, they just may "create" some weather fear porn to keep the masses locked down. Its a great tool of control.

Chronology:
1. William Colby was the CIA Director from 1973 to 1976.
2. He died in April, 1996.
3. The first mention of this quote is in David McGowan’s 2000 book “Derailing Democracy”, Common Courage Press, 4 years after Colby’s death. One might have thought that a statement that powerful and controversial by a public figure, the head of the CIA, would have appeared sometime prior to four years after his death. In fact, one might have thought that it would generate controversy more or less immediately!


So, did Colby say it?
1. There is no primary source attribution or any source attribution at all, earlier than McGowan’s for this quote.
2. The quote appears prominently in his introduction (at page 13), with no first source attribution. Or, put slightly differently, there's nothing which would indicate anything other than that McGowan fabricated the quote.
3. Over 200 other quotes are cited in this book with first source attribution, but not Colby’s.
