CLEANED A/CON NOTICED CHARGE FROM...

I cleaned 1 a/con today n noticed when I touched the frame I felt a charge...

I shut off the power n still get same charge.....

Is there an earthing problem? Can any member advise please....

If you're getting a shock or tingle when touching the frame you should check to see if the aircon has been properly grounded (earthed). I suspect the electrics have not been installed correctly. You should not get any sort of shock/tingle if you turn off the breaker either installed on the wall close to the unit or in the main panel. Turning off the aircon with just the remote will not stop the electricity from going to the unit.

I would also check that they have not connected it the wrong way round ie live neutral, most here do not know the differance, even the pea connected my house the wromg way round , complete idiots
