Goodnight Sweetheart, loved that series.

Reg the copper, was the original nice but dim.

Whatever happened to Dervla Kerwan, Gary's ww11 wife?

Very interesting suggestions
For crime, the following are top notch
Morse (on you tube), its prequel Endeavour (another series about to start), Frost (David Jason - a brilliant actor)
For American comedy
Malcolm in the Middle

Talking over a glass or 2 of red over the weekend and a similar topic came up.
Neither if us, no matter how much red we consumed could think of the brit show where , the guy goes back in time to the war years and he fell for a pub owner. Has it been mentioned here or not. I found that a great show. Any one know the name?
Also for those with a different sense of humour ...The Kenny Everett Video Show ...was a bit out there.
GOODNIGHT SWEETHEART ?? rings a bell

I recently watched some Episodes of “FROST’, the acting and counter play between him and his superior officer is a joy to watch. It is however a bit depressing, a bit too downbeat, the backdrop of a dreary middle England city , where it appears to rain incessantly, also adds to the misery. Hard to think it would be commissioned today.

Prison from Channel 4.

Filmed at Durham Prison, 2 episodes available. I was shocked at the number of inmates with severe mental health problems, & the almost open use of Spice & Cannabis.
Thanks for the recommendation . I watched a good documentary last night . A real character from the past https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=917D47hh_9k&t=1527s

Fred Dibnahs " The ups and downs of chimneys "

Here's an interesting 10-part series coming up.

Murdertown

"With first-hand testimony from family members, police officers, witnesses and reporters, MURDERTOWN shines a light on some of Britain’s darkest murder locations, examining the crimes that rocked these communities and the impact they have had on the people living there."

https://www.crimeandinvestigation.co.uk ... sneak-peek

If we have any dodgy denizens from Tamworth, Hull, Brighton, Dundee, Huddersfield, Sunderland, Pontypridd, Dartford, Watford or Barnsley, this may help explain why they are the way they are.
