Our border situation is indeed a crisis now complicated by the obstructionists allowing the government to shut down and people not getting pay checks. It is simply a political problem because it is a such a small portion of the budget. This could badly backfire for the democrats. It would appear that they are too stupid to see the consequences. Does it seem odd that the democrats are giving many more billions in aid to countries that hate the USA?

You can bet that Trump is going to get his wall regardless of what it takes.

With illegal southern border crossings at a +10-year low, please tell us how it's a crisis?

"Visa overstays have outnumbered people who enter the country illegally at the Southern border every year since 2007, according to a report by the Center for Migration Studies. The report's authors estimate that the number of total visa overstays was 600,000 more than the total number of border crossers and that in 2014, visa overstays accounted for two-thirds of all new undocumented immigrants."

Those 800,000 are just the employees, themselves. Add in family members, and you're undoubtedly looking at at least 2,000,000 people who are affected by this nonsense.

The message being sent to the Middle East and to the world is made clear by Secretary of State Pompeo. The Trump Doctrine is alive, and it was well-received.

The site: American University in Cairo, one of Obama's apology tour stops in 2009. Pompeo let it be known that the policy in the Middle East by the prior administration is over, done, finished and the Trump Doctrine completely rejects what happened over those eight years.

Alliances are being reset and the globalists are experiencing another setback in this region of the world.

"The Age of self-inflicted American shame is over."

Obama was an embarrassment to all Americans and his libtard policies a travesty that will take decades from which to recover.

The crimes committed and the financial burden on US communities in local schools, hospitals, the criminal justice system, state and federal tax coffers and day-to-day life in society has been immeasurable and almost infinite. It numbers in the billions of dollars nationwide -- much more than the cost of a $25 billion dollar wall and improved border security.

And now the push on the southern border continues, according to the Washington comPost.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/th ... story.html
A new migrant caravan is forming in Central America, with plans to leave next week

Americans who love their country and want the border defended and immigration laws enforced will get their wall.

If you lost a family member or a loved one to a drunk driver, you would quickly change your mind about drink-driving as well.

So what's the question? how many drunk drivers are going to crash into the new wall, I expect a few till they realise it's there

According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, consumer prices have hardly moved as a result of Trump's tariffs.

The Cheerleaders for Failure often repeat their propaganda that “tariffs are taxes on consumers,” but consumers in the US aren't feeling it. Probably due to a self-sustaining economy large enough to alter buying habits and alter supply lines quickly.

In the 4th Q of 2018, the Treasury collected $8 billion in tariffs (gee, that would pay for Trump's border security request), which is 83% more year over year. But the Department of Labor’s consumer price index was just 1.9 percent higher year over year. Month by month, prices actually fell.

Don't you read, the Chinese front loaded their goods to avoid the tariffs . Helped by those diabolical Libs factory owners that wanted stock components before further tariff increase, add to that the drop in the Chinese currency and hey presto much cheaper Chinese goods ,and a hell of a increase in imports. the pain comes later

China always ahead.

.

Cato Institute link:

https://www.cato.org/publications/immig ... -immigrant

Only applies to a study from one state: Texas.
This brief uses data from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
The data provided in my previous posts is from the Department of Homeland Security, applies to ILLEGAL ALIENS, apprehensions by ICE, and is NATIONWIDE.

ICE and Texas DPS have very different responsibilities and authority. ICE doesn't deal with crimes by citizens, and has federal/nationwide authority pursuing illegal aliens. Texas DPS only deals with crime within the borders of Texas and has nothing to do with immigration enforcement.
