I don't understand how the new tax system works, that's why I pay an accountant to do my tax return. It your taxes went way up, you must have a hell of a lot of taxable income, I see on my return that my standard deduction went from $7,900 last year to $25,600 this year. Can you explain why your tax liability went up? Maybe you should hire an accountant to do your tax return.

Agree. I used to have an accountant do mine, too. Last 10 years, I've done them myself since I liquidated all of my fixed assets in the US.

Find it odd that someone would post their tax status on Twitter, though. Plus, their friends on Twitter probably know their political affiliation, so why do they go out of their way to announce that? And if they're going to spend time posting it on Twitter, they should know what caused their increase. Why not also post the cause? Too much information about meaningless stuff and not enough information about what matters.

LS Their Political Affiliation in this case was Republican but by the sounds of it that has changed. Same as if you had bought an item at a store for ages and then all of a sudden they have increased their price and you know that across the street at the competition it is cheaper in the long run
