the streets are now too dangerous for MPs to move around safely

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-47659410

MPs have been urged to take taxis home from Parliament and not travel alone in the coming days, over security fears.

Deputy Speaker Lindsay Hoyle has written to all MPs ahead of potentially crunch Brexit votes next week.

"I have never felt this level of tension during my time in the House and I am aware other colleagues feel the same," wrote Mr Hoyle.

He said regional police forces have been told to be aware of tensions both at Westminster and locally.

He added that the Metropolitan Police has been told it must take a lead to ensure MPs can vote without fear.

Special provisions to allow MPs to be collected from the Parliamentary estate by taxi have been introduced.

MPs have also been advised to travel with colleagues, rather than on their own.

Earlier, anti-Brexit Independent Group MP Anna Soubry said she was unable to go home this weekend because she was facing "serious" death threats.

The adult, the EU, has stepped up to take charge of the Brexit mess in the UK:

"The French president, Emmanuel Macron, told reporters as he left the summit that the EU had acted to protect its interests in response to a “vacuum” in Westminster. "The EU in a very clear manner has today responded to a British political crisis,” he said. “The British politicians are incapable to put in place what their people have demanded. Their people voted for Brexit.” "

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... rexit-date

EU leaders, such as Macron, are now having to step into the shoes of the British government and to help govern the UK. Hopefully this is only a temporary measure. Many Brits won't be happy at big brothers such as France doing this but to outsiders the UK appears to be becoming ungovernable.

Unfortunately, over the last thirty years or so, we Brits have allowed ourselves to become dominated by a self appointed politically astute combination of politicians and news media. Their agenda has been that they know best, and we the people of Britain should learn to do as they say, and not as they do. So successful has this takeover been, that no one is prepared to speak out against any issue favoured by this coalition for fear of being branded as racist/sexist/ageist or any other ...ist you can think of.

As a result of this, Britain is now governed by a parliament of MPs who believe they are there to dictate to the people what the people should accept. The concept that the people require a Government to serve the needs and interests of the people has been subjugated to the belief that the personal ambitions and agendas of the MP are paramount.

Hence, although the expressed wish of the people is to leave the EU, it is NOT the wish of a majority of MPs, media barons and senior civil servants. So they will do all they can to prevent it. Just wait for the delay, followed by a campaign for another referendum etc (as per Scotland).

Whether one voted to leave the EU or to remain, the loser has been British democracy, for we have created a new ruling elite.

Perhaps the British population will wake up and realise that sleazebags they would not invite into their homes are yet elected as MPs.

Piling pressure on May, EU executive says no-deal Brexit plans complete

Source: Reuters
BRUSSELS (Reuters) - EU officials said on Monday they had completed their plans for what they saw as an increasingly likely no-deal Brexit, piling pressure on British Prime Minister Theresa May as she battled to persuade her own lawmakers to back a divorce agreement.

May was fighting to keep control of Britain’s exit from the European Union as some in her party called on her to quit and parliament plotted to wrest the Brexit process away from her government.

“Time is running out. A disastrous no-deal Brexit is more likely than ever,” said Guy Verhofstadt, a Belgian europhile who deals with Brexit as a member of the European Parliament, which must sign off on any final divorce agreement.

“We are prepared for this scenario,” said one EU official, referring to the prospect of Britain crashing out without any agreements on trade or transition to avoid the economic shock of a sudden break.

The big question now is whether it will be. Perhaps not.

If they revoke Article 50, is there a risk of significant political violence in the UK?

Indicative votes are just that, indicators on the sentiment of Parliamentarians. Well, we already know there sentiments, the house is stuffed with remainer MP’s, most of which are acting in direct conflict with their constituents who voted Leave.

What is written into law is that we leave the eu on the 29th of March 2019 and no subsequent bill/law has yet been passed to change the fact.

Both Labour and Conservative parties campaigned for a referendum, both parties passed a bill to invoke article 50 in full knowledge that in the event that no deal had been reached, the UK would leave without a deal.

Furthermore, it is absolutely clear that a vote to leave was a vote for leaving the eu without a deal, you only have to listen to David Cameron’s speech and read the leaflet sent to all households to have a crystal clear understanding of what voting leave meant.

We want out, we want out on the 29th of March and we want No Deal!

41% believe the UK should make a clean break. Only 28% disagreed.

MPs take control

Good morning and welcome to an unusual day in the UK parliament, where from 2pm MPs will take control of business and hold votes to find out what sort of deal might win the support of a majority to allow Brexit to proceed.

Fast forward about 8 hours or so...

Here are the results of the indicative vote, showing the number of MPs who voted for each one

Option B: a no-deal Brexit on April 12 – votes in favour 160, against 400
Option D: - Common Market 2.0 – votes in favour 188, against 283
Option H: single market membership – votes in favour 65, against 377
Option J: customs union with the EU – votes in favour 264, against 272
Option K: Labour's plan for an alternative Brexit deal – votes in favour 237, against 307
Option L: revoke Article 50 if the alternative is a no-deal Brexit – votes in favour 184, against 293
Option M: second referendum – votes in favour 268, against 295
Option O: future trading relationship with the EU in case of a no-deal Brexit– votes in favour 139, against 422

No majority and not a lot of evidence of being in control there.

In the meantime, Theresa has promised she'll leave when her deal gets approved... no if's, but's or maybe's there.

...and Arlene has said, 'Over my dead body.'

Option M - 14 more votes and the MPs would ignore the Dave Cameron referendum. That's shocking.

The future of the UK looks bleak with the current rabble of MPs.

It's not as bad as it looks as 90 odd MP's were not allowed to vote, in a proper vote there would be 650 MP,s

Even in we do leave its only a matter of time before we re-join again.

I think another in out public vote will happen and i reckon this is the ideal scenario for the EU, just keep kicking the can down the road until they have the momentum and support for another vote.

No Deal Brexit Is the Answer, Project Fear Is a Myth

Source: BBC Radio

Mervyn K ing, former governor of the Bank of England, wants FULL BREXIT and says that it is the best alternative for the UK. More importantly, he says that all the fear mongering by remainers is a myth.

K ing ripped into the UK's elitist political class for ignoring the will of the People.

"Incompetence seems to have spread beyond government to Parliament as a whole. The fact they can’t make a decision, is extraordinary.”

“When you hear about people talking about the consequences of leaving without a deal as ‘national suicide’, I wonder whether the political class hasn’t suffered a collective nervous breakdown and lost confidence in the country.”

K ing went even further:
My own personal preference would be to go back to Europe and say we have a clear strategy which is we want to leave without a deal. But we would like to take six months to complete the preparations to avoid the dislocation… I would like to see us say that we will leave without a deal, a certain distance ahead, which would give the country time to make those preparations and then I think we’d be in a much stronger situation.
The BBC interviewer suggested that the UK would lose jobs.

K ing responded:
I don’t think it’s obvious there would be jobs lost at all. If you look at what’s happened since the referendum, we were told there would be a recession if we voted to leave, but what’s actually happened is that the British economy has grown since the referendum by slightly more than Germany.

The idea that voting to leave is an economic disaster doesn’t match the facts. If you look at the exchange rates of (£) sterling… it’s exactly the same this week, as when I left the Bank of England in the middle of 2013.
K ing's summarized view of it all matches my own. He has accused the government of delivering a Brexit that is in name only. K ing believes that the UK and EU would want a free trade deal, BUT ... if the EU isn't reasonable, leave without a deal and do what's best for the UK.
