Eating at home.

Post by valentine » May 16, 2007, 8:41 pm

Following Lees off the cuff remark about might have well stayed at home I decided to show what can be done and at what price. Now I am not in any way suggesting this is a commercially viable price, as after all the wife doesn't have any overheads and as she herself says, its worth another couple of hundred baht , not to wash up.We live a long way from town and its not always possible to travel in, so we eat at home a lot. This is just a sample and it would be interesting to see other wives home cooking efforts.
On the plate are 1kilo of fresh ribs, marinaded in a honey and macam sauce, with a side portion of fresh steamed vegetables, total cost just 80bht.

It was delicious. :D

You do realise if eating at a "bistro" you are expected to bring your own wine, subject to that, your on.

You'd better ask how many French Fries you'll get (chips - sorry Beer Monkey). 25 seems to be an appropriate minimum number!!

Ribs ...

slow roast them, then a little oil in the wok add a few cloves of garlic, shallots, fish sauce, fresh chilli then add some honey(a generous amount !!) then add the cooked ribs stir through to give the ribs a good coating then spinkle with chopped fresh coriander serve on a plate then squeeze half a fresh lime over and enjoy.

will provide a pic next time i make them !
