^ If she received bad advice on calling that fatally-flawed snap election, then she's a victim of someone else trying to take advantage of her novice PM status. Her stated reasons were to strengthen the government's hand in Brexit negotiations and take advantage of the perpetual frisson within Labour as well as limiting the distracting skirmishes with her own bank benchers. A re-election would have reset the clock and extended the period for her government to complete post Brexit EU trade negotiations from a little over 1 year to maybe 5 years. But I think the fallacious April 2018 poll results that indicated a 20% lead were what tipped her hand. Strange to consider that poll's that failed to predict the vote to leave would be held with any sort of regard. Maybe it was those bloody Russians interfering again...

Subsequently she has presented us with a character that listens to the counsel of the people she entrusted with the nitty-gritty of these negotiations, then summarily ignored them. Twice. If she called the snap election on her own volition, then hoist be her own petard.

Maybe she can get a medal for the PM who survived the most no-confidence motions? And maybe the oak leaf cluster for the PM who oversaw the largest vote against a seated government ever? That'll look nice on the mantelpiece, eh?

Was it just blind panic after the arsewipe Cameron ran for the hills when the referendum didnt go according to plan .

Whoever gets the keys to #10 inherits not only Brexit but unless the soon-to-be-gone PM takes car of it before she leaves, they also face inking the new confidence and supply agreement with the DUP. The current 2-year contract expires in June.

I haven't picked up on any of the mainland media mentioning this but here's a view from closer the other side of the Irish Sea.
