Pirelli
Pirelli
We recently made a trip to Nonghan.......used to go frequently, but not so often nowadays. On the way there from Udon, about 2-3km past the Buddhist shrine at the bend in the road (13 or so km from Udon), there's a factory visible on the left hand side of the road (maybe 200m off the highway). Just before we arrived at that point, there was a Pirelli sign near the entrance to the factory. I wanted to stop and take a photo of the sign......but wasn't able to stop quick enough.
If anyone lives in that area (Nongnakham to Nonghan), please take a photo of the yellow Pirelli sign for me and post it or pm it to me. Please!

Re: Pirelli
Try finding it on Google Earth road view, take a screen snap.
Hit 'em hard, hit 'em fast, hit 'em with the one they don't expect, and just keep hitting.

Hi parrot

Now I know where to get my soft compounds.
Re: Pirelli
From what I read, the source of the bad smell is the privately owned rubber processing factory a few hundred meters before the Pirelli plant. City officials have cited the plant on many occasions....each time the owners saying they'll take measures to prevent the smell. As so often happens, once the factories open, it's almost too late for government officials to do much too enforce.
I think the Pirelli plant is a new fixture on Udon's landscape. I'm not sure what exactly they're producing.......I'm trying to find out.

Re: Pirelli
For what its worth this factory is not owned by Pirelli, the factory only process the rubber and send to Pirelli to make their own tyre products. The sign was a welcome sign for when Pirelli last visited the factory, was either last year or the year before but like many signs in Thailand wasn't taken down after. The Factory is Thai owned and called Von Bundit Rubber Factory, and we live around the corner but out of the smelling zone! Anyway if you want to know more about Von Bundit here is their Web Site, lastly this factory was opened in 2015
Hope this helps

Thanks for the info. I wonder if the source of the stink in that area will ever fix the problem. Lots of "social responsibility" and "international standards" talk on their website.
Re: Pirelli
That "pirelli" factory may be shutting down. I think it's a sign of the times for rubber producers
