After being robbed at gunpoint in his taxi in Albania, Kristi fled to France and made a request for asylum that was rejected.
Yet the 27-year-old Albanian taxi driver was never sent home. More than three years after being told that he had no right to refugee status, Kristi, his wife, Nertila, 24, and their three-year-old son are still living in France at taxpayers’ expense, their latest lodgings a tent in a gymnasium made available by the local council in Rennes, Brittany.
Their story illustrates President Macron’s failure to restore order to a flawed asylum system. He came to power in 2017 pledging to treat genuine asylum-seekers with greater humanity, while expelling those whose claims were shown to be bogus.
He has managed neither and his impotence is fuelling what threatens to become one of the most explosive political issues of his term of office.
With Italy shutting its doors to migrants, Germany toughening its stance and Britain enmeshed in Brexit, France, along with Spain, is coming to be viewed as the best bet for those in search of a better life. Last year 122,743 people requested asylum in France, up 22 per cent compared with 2017. About 33,000 claims were approved.

PARIS — Hundreds of undocumented migrants stormed the Panthéon monument on Friday, demanding that the French government pay more attention to their plight and grant them legal status.
The protesters, many of whom were from West Africa, called themselves “Black Vests,” an allusion to the recent antigovernment “Yellow Vests” protests. They surged the memorial in the early afternoon, where luminaries such as Victor Hugo, Voltaire and Simone Veil, champions of human rights, are buried.
Occupying the memorial for a couple of hours, they sat peacefully under the monument’s dome, waving papers and chanting, “Black Vests, Blacks Vests” and “Solidarity with migrants.”
“We are undocumented, the voiceless and faceless of the French Republic,” read a leaflet shared by La Chapelle Debout!, an advocacy organization for migrants and refugees. “We come to the graveyards of your great men to denounce your desecration.”

The UK has started returning migrants who crossed the Channel to France in a bid to deter future attempts.
Sajid Javid announced the move as part of an agreement that will see the UK pay £6m for security equipment including drones and video surveillance along the French coast.
The Home Office said a small number of migrants who travelled to Kent in boats at the end of last year were returned to France on Thursday morning.
“There will be a mutual commitment to conduct return operations as quickly as possible under the Dublin Regulation,” the Home Office said.
“The UK will continue to work closely with France and other countries to return more migrants who have entered the UK by small boat, in order to provide a strong deterrent against the dangerous crossings.”

Who started all this borderless bulls*$t? Merkel and her multikulti globalist handlers. A few years ago she admitted it was an unmitigated disaster -- a very bad idea.
Now responsible citizens of countries around the world are having to mop up that old cow's mess.

Countries have borders and immigration laws for a reason, what is happening today is a big mistake.

France is a great country. Children born in France today are indeed very fortunate. Germany is awesome too.

I think hes just a bit bored .
Mummy probably dumped him in his play pen , and left him there all day , so he tries to wind everyone up .
He then goes on the kiddies forum and brags about his exploits .
My parents always encouraged me to be sympathetic to the less fortunate , but that man just makes it so difficult .

France is not the only country that has this type of problems. The liberals want the immigrant votes at the expense of working citizens and to the detriment of those countries. Now the liberals are wondering why so many people are leaning to the right. Is it too late?
