Not sure BOJO understood his remit :-k

Coming back with Theresa Mays deal minus a few of the good bits wasn't exactly what was needed :fryingpan:

Just depends now on how many MP's have "protected their interests" since the last time it was voted down I suppose :-"

Just what "good bits" are you referring too. Boris has finally got a somewhat convoluted agreement from an intransigent EU team because they need the money. Corbyn has rejected it in less than 20 minutes after it was announced, surprise?? n
Not!. I would prefer a no deal and a deal worked from there after but it seems on face value something that can be worked with. Watch Corbyn and his Marxists mates screams of anguish tomorrow.

The 19th aint over yet.

Labour and rebel Tory MPs join in bid to force through extension with amendment on ‘super Saturday’

"...despite positive reactions from Bank of England governor Mark Carney and declarations of support from several Labour MPs, Johnson’s plans were rocked on Friday by a cross-party group led by Oliver Letwin and Hilary Benn.

The Conservative and Labour MPs will table an amendment allowing parliament to withhold its approval until the legislation to implement Brexit has passed.

With Labour expected to back it, as well as rebel Conservatives including Philip Hammond and David Gauke, it appears likely to pass."

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... -is-passed

Scary thought of the day award goes to...

John Bercow could have the casting vote if Boris Johnson’s deal comes down to a tie.

"Parliamentary rules dictate that the Speaker has the deciding vote – and Mr Bercow should be expected to cast his ballot “according to what was done in similar circumstances in the past”.

The situation is rare and opinion is divided over how precedent may apply.

The Commons rule states: “Where possible the issue should remain open for further discussion and no final decision should be made by a casting vote.”

In April, Mr Bercow made the casting vote after a tied result on an amendment that sought to allow MP's to hold furthet indicative votes."

Hammond voices concern PM may be trying to dupe MPs into backing no deal

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... nt-says-mp

"The former chancellor, who had the whip withdrawn for opposing no deal, has challenged the prime minister to show that he will not use the transition period to run down the clock and leave without an agreement in December 2020."

Funny how he had absolutely NO objections to Theresa May trying to run down the clock while he was sort of relevant.

I honestly don't know what is worse, the PM 'trying to dupe MPs into backing no deal' or Hammond and those of that ilk desperately trying to dupe the British electorate out of their wish to Leave.

Andrew Neil Twitter :

The Benn Act, forcing government to seek Brexit deadline extension in event of no deal, was drawn up in expectation of no deal. But Mr Johnson produced a deal. Hence scramble to come up with Letwin amendment, which forces extension even with deal.

We’ve had the Benn Act now we’ve got the Letwin amendment.

"We’ve had the Benn Act now we’ve got the Letwin amendment. "

Then we shouldn't be far away from the "put brain in gear" decision, which has to be, go back to the people, who at least this time will know what they are voting for =;
