I think they forgot to wire up the street lights before laying the concrete ..... TIT

Had first case of a (new?) Thai traffic manouvre (note spell checker needs correcting) yesterday evening ..... car started to travel towards NK , did a "U turn" and headed back down towards Udon into oncoming traffic ](*,)
That's unusual as you say normally would be flashing lights and reverse full speed lol

Well I for one will be looking forward to flyover/underpass opening .......... not that I will use either for the first couple of weeks until i've confirmed that neither is going to have any dramatic failures. Having spent 2 years watching the "labour force" at work, I will wait patiently at the lights until both flyover/underpass have both been tested fully in all conditions =;

Yes agree and by overladen lorries and idiotic bus drivers, then I know it is not going to collapse, may wait until the wet season to make sure the underpass will not flood either.....lol

Just went thru at 08:45 plus I use it 4 times everyday during the week.
I have had no complaints and think the flow of traffic has been just great!!
Now try driving in other cities in the world Bangkok Pattaya to start with

If you enjoy efficiency look at video
Installing a 70 meter tunnel under a 5 or 6 lane Highway in a WEEKEND, now thats planning

I always thought the ring road at big c was the wrong way round ? Never thought to much until my wife`s son moved to Sakhon Nakhon and i have driven over it about 10 times in the last few months . Very little traffic on that flyover or road while there is very heavy traffic crossing underneath to and from bkk all having to stop at the lights ?
All that was wanted was a flyover to make a right turn
I agree... the flyover should be on the ring-road and not on the cross roads. They've repeated the folly at old Tesco AND blessed the paltry few downtowners with an underpass. Looking at both junctions, I guess they can only do straight flyovers.

I think that had they done that then each and every traffic light on the Ring Road would have to be changed to deal with the obvious traffic build up .
In truth their traffic flow plans are a mess, there was once a system at Global where the traffic flowed both ways with the lights on Green on the ring road and turning right nad left wherre also seperat, but as Thais fail to understand that, they went back to each road being seperate, hence causing tail backs.

I'd like to think that Udon had something more interesting, attractive than old pottery as its' province image and World Heritage site. But that's just my viewpoint. The locals seem to 'push it' a lot. Actually, if the new construction requires some enhancement to its' concrete, I do like the more modern? metal 'interpretation' of a pot.

No, Thai art or anybody elses, but I'm quite good at recognising a pile of scrap metal ..... someone might get B200 - B300 if its the right type of metal, but value had probably diminished already due to the paint scraping that will be needed.

Got absolutely no idea what that says parrot, but I'm pretty sure that that those in the picture do not look like the sort of people that would pay good money for a bit of scrap metal and then TRY to justify it by calling it ART

Hey KP what prey will it look like when the "weather & rust has made it unrecognisible" as a heap of scrap metal ???

With any luck it will disintegrate into rust and blow away within a few months.
