Stan, you know better than that, 4 weeks in thai time is 4 months. Looks like it will be ready on time.BKKSTAN wrote:Wow,that doesn't look like it is 4 weeks from completion and as you said in your request for photos, the photos that the builder sent you were not very good! They look to me as if they were designed to deceive!I hope you have not overpaid the installments!
Just a thought. You do not want a rushed job What I posted above is correct, 4 weeks to a thai is 4 months. Might just be time to bite the bullet and do nothing, relax, since final payment has been made. Maybe have Paul take some pictures in 4 weeks.Sabai wrote:Thanks paul..
The place looks like a pile of Sh+++e
They have been working there since November???
I think I will take the next flight as I paid the Last and Final Installment.
Thanks anyway.
Thanks again Paul I saw the rest of the fotos on my e-mail..
I am not happy whatsoever. Can anybody drop down and apply a little preessure to the builder/ He is apparently a good man but caught up inother projects. I paid for all marble and granite ICI brickwork, Specialised roofing to cool the house, Polarised windows stainliss steel veranda and stairway .chandaliers from china, American fully fitted kitchen and doors and fittings all Supposed to be AI american quality standard. None of which I see in any of these fotos ... Sorry its 8..am here and I thought I would wake up to see my dream house after 7 months of work paid for on time every month, well its not the case.
When my wife wakes up there will be words,, as I trusted this builder because he built a lovely house for a german friend of mine near Big C..
Anyway anybody good at the Thai language to speed up the process radically, I will pay you by western union but you may have to act as an ambassador rather than a muscle man, I.E. I am not just a stupid farang on my own in Udon with a Gold ATM.
Sorry if the post is over the top but its all the money Ive got and after 7 months I expect better than this pile of crap

I agree with Dakota! You will probably not gain anything and could possibly lose alot with any big confrontation and a push to complete quickly!Since you have already paid,I would wait if I were you and hope that they complete the job! Here is hoping they don't just walk away as they have no more money to get!Dakoda wrote:Just a thought. Maybe you could hire a farang to supervise your contractor. Now is the time to correct any mistakes. Once the house is finished it will be much harder and more expensive to correct the mistakes. However, if you have made the final payment to the contractor, he will probably not be receptive to any suggestions.

yes thats right Sabai, all building sites look a mess, and when its completed its totally transformed, i looked again at the photos you origanily posted some weeks back (although the pic size's are toooo big for the screen), and to me it looked like 6 months worth was left, and not the 4 weeks you thought, this is Thai time things are slower, it will be a great house when its done.lee wrote:Wait and see what it looks like when it's finished, you may be pleasantly surprised.

Hi all again
Just want to thank paul for the fotos and his info he sent me and to all the lads that pm.d me thanks a lot.
I have decided to phone the builder tommorrow to speed things up. As I have kept my part of the agreement. I just want to arrive to a finished house as promised. He build a beatiful house for my friend Pet Noi from germany near Big C so I am not too much worried about his quality, he even tiles the cuboards in the kitchen. Its just a bit slow for my liking and I hear through the grapevine he has other projects at present, a well wait and see chacha sabai sabai and all that.
Slainte Brian
P.ss Beer monkey that nurse looks like somebody from the Paulo hospital that had an I V cancer drug going into me by mistake I hope you change it soon. Jeese I shiver thinging of that place.

Dia dhuit Brian. How did the phone call go? The fact that he has other projects on the go just makes him seem like any other builder (like my last one in Dublin) so he drags his heels a bit.
I'm sure sending a few boys around in a menacing manner would achieve nothing. I wonder though if you just had someone calling around with Thai lady in tow to see how work was progressing just to let him see you are not alone in a more diplomatic manner.
Maybe his attitude is, "Fahlang go back eye-land... cha cha... sabai sabai!"
So maybe he needs a little attitude adjustment!
