Sales of alcohol at the supermarkets
Sales of alcohol at the supermarkets
I know there are far more important issues, at present, but with typical bad timing it's my birthday this weekend.
I was wondering if it is still possible to buy alcohol at Tops or Tesco's, as usual, or is this area now closed off ??
I,ve still got 3 cans in the fridge so will have to drink slowly if buying is a no no from the supermarkets
Always the mom and pops store nearby for bottles of Chang I guess but no wine or champagne.

Perhaps Thailand might be interested in the following the UK example of adding Off-licences to the list of 'essential' retailers?

Full article: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-52033260Off-licences have been added to the government's list of essential UK retailers allowed to stay open during the coronavirus pandemic.
The list was updated on Wednesday amid increasing reports supermarkets are selling out of some beers and wines....

Re: Sales of alcohol at the supermarkets
Take a drive to Ban Dung, BigC - Tesco and all the Mom and Pop stores stocked to the brim and on sale. Sadly, no customers!!!!!
In BigC today and near on deserted. Shelves FULLY stocked - all ancillary business closed including gold shops.
Sad times for local families.

Would have thought Gold shops would be excluded in Thailand, bearing in mind how many use them like "pawn shops", to hock their trinkets for cash to pay food/motorbike rent etc ..... done it myself during cashflow problem

It's good that Alan is maintaining his sense of humour in these testing times....
Anyway, back on topic.... I went to Tesco Lotus Extra this morning... no problem getting alcohol or ordering a birthday cake... it was very quiet... you have your temperature monitored before you can enter.
