baking

Post by kopkei » July 15, 2020, 7:17 am

i did not want to pollute the kitchen topic so i will put it here ...
as glalt mentioned baking buns/bread in the air fryer, another option when you do not want to buy a (big) oven is this
https://shopee.co.th/product/21843339/1 ... n=datafeed it also as the air fryer is a compact convection pot
almost every Thais kitchen has one , i also almost never use a mold to bake bread , as i have used the bread machine before ,still have one somewhere, but way more nice and better bread the conventional way . as info ;)

You are without a doubt an experienced and talented baker and I understand your preferences. I unfortunately, am lazy and always look for the easiest way. Even using the dough cycle on the bread machine, having to cut and portion the dough is a hassle. I don't own a regular oven but have a small cheap Otto. It does pretty good with a heating element on the top and the bottom, although using both elements makes the bottom of the bread too dark. Since I now have the air fryer, I'm afraid the little Otto is going to be put in storage. My wife is a good cook but she has no interest in baking anything. She eats VERY little of my bread and we have no children, so baking a big batch is just a waste.

of course i also can not eat all at once , but we have a big freezer , i am eating 2 small breads/buns a day , if you like your breads to be crispy again ,put them 5-10 min in the convection pot/oven on 200dgC and they will be as freshly baked , you can also shorten the original bake time to finishing the baking after coming out of the freezer ,
i also give many away to my friends and neighbors as i enjoy to bake (and cook).... ;)

I bought the same model about 4 months ago. Nice unit but had no recipe book in the box. Tried many times to get one through Lazada and also direct to the supplier but nothing so basically have 14 menu settings that I cannot use. Not a happy bunny.

no thanks for the offer ppf :D , we once had this idea when just arriving in los (almost 19 years ago) to open a small restaurant ,but gave up on the idea after a few years realizing corruption rules in Thailand and we did not want to get headache doing what we enjoy ... ;)
